Holland stole it. They deserve to be out. Mexico didn't just play better in the first half, they were superior throughout.

Really gutted for the Mexicans, horrible defeat. Someone should punch that referee in the face and accept the 6 month ban.
So sad :x

Argelia is playing way better than Germany right now.

I am now hoping for an Argelia X Costa Rica final :D

I'm glad they got that goal. If Germany vanquish France I won't be too upset with that one.

Germany vs. Algeria

First half was really bad from the german side, second half was a little bit better and additional time was really dramatic.
but iam glad that they won the game in the end. against france they must be 100% better.

last night was very short, only 3 hours sleep...sucks to be at work today.

Well I didn't expect Algeria to beat Germany, but boy, Germany sucked until extra time. France sucked last night as well, and Brazil have been plainly average too.

Costa Rica to win!

Yes. I didn't think you did anything remarkable until Robben's beautiful dive won you the game. You're meant to be a far superior team to Mexico - consider that before you start chest beating.

^ That one was horrible. The player knew he'd really hurt the guy immediately, looked incredibly guilty and sheepish right up to and including the stretchering off. That sort of thing can be a career ending move.

I have no English commentary, what happened to the guy - was it a break?

yup was a break

He was rushed to a hospital where it was revealed that his tibia and fibula are broken and will keep him sidelined for a couple of months. Shockingly Matuidi received only yellow card, but raised a lot of protests from football pundits, including Diego Maradona, who called it a worse offence than Luis Suarez's bite. "One must be very impudent not to see that this is worse than what Suarez did. Where is the ball? [The tackle] is criminal,"
--------------

Btw here is the Tiger knee, perfect sagat refference for that move..

Sorry, but after the 1-0 Holland was clearly better. The Mexicans clearly had less stamina in this horrible playing conditions.

It sure was houdini-like escape, but deserved.
Not giving real penalty first when was an obvious one, means more chance of the ref. giving one when it's a dubious second time.

On another note: the swiss play remarkably well against Argentina. love that Shaqiri guy. :)

It's such a boring match. I don't even remember the first half, I only know I watched it because I haven't left the room or changed channel.

It just makes the rest of the match so much more pitiful, look how Switzerland could have played.

If they had chosen to.

Didn't enjoy the quality of the football but the tension was certainly there, and what an outcome .
That the Swiss nearly scored an equalizer in the last minute was the cherry, I felt bad for them .

I can't believe Belguim hasn't scored. WTF!!

About 20 shots on goal and none have gone in. Perhaps it is the USA's day.

Herculean effort the USA at the end. Pity they never got into that gear a bit earlier.

What a great match! Cheers for the USA! but Belgium deserved to win. I think they'll handle Argentina easily, tbh I think the USA would beat Argentina as well...
