[Help] Cool 4+ player games on PS3

So, some friends are returning to town and we're planning to spend a long night drinking beer and playing videogames. The console of our choice is a PS3 since we've got 6 controllers available for us all, but a game which supports up to 4 players will be just fine. What we have in mind is to play something just cool/funny/easy-to-play...any suggestions?

What I first thought was to get that TMNT IV remake, the Simpsons arcade port and the X-Men one. I managed to get the first two from the HK PSN store but the X-Men one, the one I wanted the most, has been apparently removed from the stores permanently (fucking DRM policies ).

So yeah, that's about it...once again, any suggestions are welcome!

This doesn't exactly fit your criteria, but Tokyo Jungle is an excellent two-player couch co-op game.

My go-to games when people come over are Castle Crashers (beat-em-up) and Bang Bang Racing. Both are PSN titles and they're probably pretty cheap nowadays.

Bomberman ultra has been our beer game of choice for nearly 5 years. Every Sunday night we are all available its straight round my friends house to play some ultra bomberman.

You can play 8 players at once, or you can select computer drones to replace the blanked players.

Its got so many options you can't possibly get bored and if you've never played before there are lots of surprises.

The aforementioned Dragon's Crown, Spelunky and Capcom's D&D arcade games. Don't mourn the loss of X-Men, it's realllllllllllllllllllly not as good as you remember it.

A warning about Dragon's Crown: local co-op is incredibly inconvenient. Menus and shops must be navigated separately for each player.

I don't have a PS3, but I have an XBOX 360. The 2 multiplayer game most sucessful among my friends are available on PS3 too: Blur and Wrecked: Revenge Revisited.

They are both very easy to play, anyone can easily get the grips with them, and they are insanely fun.

Just play Blur with no CPU drones, as the CPU AI is brutal on this game if you don't know how to play it properly. I personally think Blur is one of the best games of that generation, and probably the most underrated game of it.

They're two of the best arcade beat 'em ups ever made (it's a two pack - contains the first game and the sequel). Just get it, you'll thank us.

There's two different ports of the Capcom D&D games on modern systems. The international PS3/360/WIIU/PC release was developed by Iron Galaxy, and while it's a good port, has some glaring issues and isn't really geared towards providing an authentic arcade experience. The Japan-only, PS3-exclusive port was developed by an internal Capcom team with some of the staff that originally created the games, and is the definitive version. It also includes the ability to choose multiples of the same character in multiplayer, so if you want a team of four magic users or four clerics, you can go for it.

Crash Team Racing was pretty good, the PS2 didn't get any better games of this kind than this.

But you could try Sonic Racing Transformed , its REALLY good, imo the first Mario-Kart ripoff to really be on par with the Nintendo offerings.

Isn't Modnation Racers a 4 player game? It's a great kart game, worth it for the track editor alone.
