Help with Playasia refund?
So I ordered the Eschatos Ginga Force wonder pack from playasia, and immediately after placing the order the "you might be interested in..." box showed that I could order the two games separately for $30 each rather than the $75 I just paid. However it won't let me cancel the order since I used paypal. I tried sending them an enquiry asking to cancel the order, but they won't respond until the week starts. Does anybody have any experience with getting paypal refunds from Playasia? Are they usually willing to do that?

Re: Help with Playasia refund?
They are miserable to try and work with - my last few orders were slow to arrive and i'd pester them via email usually not getting a reply, but the games did arrive. The next time was really bad - like 40 days and open a paypal claim slow. I emailed them numerous times before opening the claim - I was told 2-3 days later via email each time it should be there soon. The games did arrive around the 48th day, while the "case" was still open (they hadn't shipped per postmark for 3+ weeks after original purchase). I confirmed they arrived on the paypal case and it closed out. The next time I went to order my account had been closed. Classy operation.

I just hope they'll be a little more amenable given that I asked for a refund less than 5 minutes after ordering...

Re: Help with Playasia refund?
They usually do reply to email, just reply to your paypal payment - when you hit reply, it should auto correct the "to field" to their email account. You should get one generic email saying "thanks for the email" and then 2-3 days later they should respond.

I sent them an email asking for a cancellation and refund through their contact page and also made a post on their facebook asking if they can do paypal refunds

Re: Help with Playasia refund?
this. I stopped going with P-A after a handful of occasions where I'd order something and get a cancellation e-mail stating they didn't have it or preordering an item and being told that they didn't have enough stock to fulfill all preorders. I had an order with a max time of 4-5 weeks delivery show up in 9 weeks too.CulDad78 wrote:They are miserable to try and work with
I've had a lot of great transactions too, but the more recent ones have been a hassle.
haven't had to deal with a refund through p-a but I hope it goes smoothly for you.

Re: Help with Playasia refund?
They just responded to my facebook post saying the order is canceled and I'll get my paypal refund shortly; that went better than expected. I just placed a order at play asia for the cheaper bundle. For some reason it glitched up and made a duplicate order asking for payment, but that should be fixed since I just mentioned it on facebook.

Re: Help with Playasia refund?
I've never had Play-Asia issues for what it's worth. I ordered a copy of Muchi Muchi Pork recently along with a few other games when it was in "restocking/backorder" status. I mailed them asking what would happen if it they didn't end up getting any in stock (because I knew it was probably out of print by then), would they refund, etc, and as it turns out, they emailed me back saying they already sent me a refund for Muchi Muchi Pork because its status had just shifted to "out of stock". So yeah, I've not had a bad experience with their service.

when I preordered the asian version of Demon's Souls in January 2009 (for the February release), I received an e-mail after the release date stating that they didn't have enough stock to fulfill all preorders and they'd either cancel my order or I could wait until they restocked within a couple of weeks. I cancelled my order... ordered from ebay, and got it a few weeks later.
I ordered an in-stock copy of The Holy Mountain on blu-ray and after 3 business days I received an e-mail saying they forgot to update their website that they no longer have access to a copy - then they switched the status to out of print ._. not that big of a deal but a big buzzkill nonetheless.
I ordered Mood Indigo (l'ecume des jours) with the slowest shipping method which says it should take 5 to 14 days for shipping but under certain circumstances it can take 4-5 weeks. at week 7 I reached out to play-asia, got no response via e-mail, left a facebook message and they told me to send another e-mail, and via a e-mail response I was told that I should wait another week before requesting them to investigate/put in a claim with the carrier. It arrived at the beginning of week 9.
but I have had many successful buying experiences with a j-360 and numerous cave port preorders. I just use them cautiously now.

Re: Help with Playasia refund?
Learned my lesson dealing with sites like Play-Asia. "In Stock" means "less than 3 copies available". Any other status I interpret as "backordered, use eBay".
I use them for pre-orders and thats only if I get in early on it, otherwise, expect to get fucked on first-print run items (looking at you, Mushi Futari)
