ASD Type v1.1

Hi all,
I finally made stand alone shmup (danmaku) with online hi-scores and high difficulty, please comment and I hope you like =)

Crazy but cool! If this is flash you could submit it directly to our group on deviant art... if you like.

We feel it leaves plenty of room for improvement, but the bullet and snake patterns are interesting - if a little tough right now.

Thanks a lot Buko-studios I much appreciate your comment =). I just submitted to your group, however DA never worked right for me (it was a miracle I could upload it there) so if it went in the wrong folder or wrong something just let me know and receive my apologies beforehand.

I know it could be impreoved and make it a little better maybe not as tough, I can asure its beatable. I will think about improving this in future. I would like to start a new bigger one maybe, I really want to make background different like one big painting (name any Cave's) but I have no idea where to start to pull it out in a reasonable time, of course all I learned making this will help and as said thanks for the heads up I will keep it in mind =)


Edit: Also I know thinking about monetizing shmup made by single developer is hard but still I try so thats why instead of improving this one just right now I move to next bigger project, because maybe next would be more "monetizable", however as said I want to improve this once I get a certain income from other games and I can relax a little

It works perfectly on there! Thanks for letting us feature it.

2 thoughts for you, perhaps for your next project.

There is little feedback/impact when you destroy enemies.
Having the enemy explode with sound and a nice explosion rewards the player for good play.

The music seems to repeat quite often.. it would be great to have a longer loop in there. could be at least a minute for us. :p

Buko-studios, thanks a lot for featuring it =), Im not so familiar with DA groups and all but I do know featured stuff, so I much appreciate it, I hope next project goes better.

Also thanks for the advices, its true I thought about adding sounds for explosion and also for plain shooting like impact on metal as enemies can be impacted many times before being destroyed, even made animation for debris after being destroyed, the trouble here is that Flash technology seems to be at its edge here with all I added in so I had to cut as much as possible to maintain speed which is key for me to bring a decent experience of play, as said in next I will keep this n mind to see if I can add feedback without having performance hit.

Ah and the music loop happens to be short due same reason, I mean with all the animations and stuff added cutting the size in certain media such as music made it goe a little faster, I know maybe this is dependent on machine specs but I have average one and I try players to be able to play at good speed with one of these, however for next will see if I can cut from other side rather than music. So as said, yes that helped me for sure, I will consider some stuff over other for next and probably get a better result, thanks for everything =)

Lord Satori, thanks =) Im glad you had fun with it, however Im not new to NG or Flash development in general, I wish I was a noob though so that I couldnt judge myself by not making this a better game, this is first shmup in my portfolio though so I guess I can use that poor excuse, and anyway next one will be better =)

Sorry I didn't clarify. I was referring to all of the people who reviewed the game in the comments section, not you and the game itself.

Lord Satori thanks for clarifying =), and yes I know, I use to reply all I can on NG but sometimes they just comment or ramble on random facts, I think the fact they started offering $100 to one lucky reviewer each week could make them turbo review maybe xD.

And also your last post helped me too so thanks for that =), but still I know the game needs improvement Im the first and bigger judge spotting its flaws, so as said I will make next bigger and better =).

Thanks Buko Studios, yes its surprising but I missed it, so thanks for pointing it here =), I will have a look and take good note for next game which hopefully will have less flaws, additionally as memory or resources seem to be stopping me from making the game perfect in all its ways I will start adding those elements lacking here and then the rest so that I can cut from other sides rather than those I picked here like having short music loop and no explosion sound fx, I will post it when its done, but as I said I want to correct this game soon, just I need the money so I cant be correcting a game that wont bring any additional income for now.
