Why them specifically? I annoys me when anyone does that. Though if Luigi does it I could be somewhat entertained by his death stare in the replay.
Anyway, people whose beliefs are so ass-backwards and ridiculous that they practically satirize themselves.

Well, how would you feel if you were beaten by those baby characters?
Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
hey there
i'm gonna buy this auction
then write four/five days after the auction close to say "I CHANGED MY MIND"
on a related note, eBay needs to make shit clearer, like the Global Shipping Program (I put down a US-only shipping option, so they're like "well just ship it to us, now you don't know what shipping actually cost the buyer" huzzah), and especially about Second Chance Offers when you're also working out cancelling a bid.
It seems like you have to let the Non-Paying Bidder thing work through before you can do a Second Chance Offer, so eBay is tilting the playing field towards bid cancellation, instead of going through the NPB process.

It pisses me off when expensive stuff breaks. Right now, my computer is acting up, likely I'll have to buy a new video card.

Ha, I'm on the hook to sell my new Radeon HD 4870x2 for $61. The guy buying it (if he pays...) will pay more in shipping.Stormwatch wrote:It pisses me off when expensive stuff breaks. Right now, my computer is acting up, likely I'll have to buy a new video card.
The video card market has pretty much stagnated. Easy to get a decent card on the cheap.
Me, I'm waiting to see Maxwell and ATI's competitor for that, if I can, and even then I won't want to buy the top-end part. Right now, a really very decent multipurpose card (good for gaming, also pretty decent for compute) will run under $180.

Online articles that aren't dated. What the shit, isn't putting a date on an article really basic stuff? I want to know if this shit is still relevant today.

Yesterday: Another day, another non-paying bidder case opened.
Today: Oh look, the person who said they were interested in the second chance offer apparently let it lapse.
Are all the top bidders on the item going to turn out to be dipshits? Jeez...

Videos that autoplay. Everyone seems to have gone overboard on this trend recently and it needs to stop.
Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Those who think you're making the same music as Skrillex and the lot when you mention you make electronic music. I mean, really? Like usually I try to avoid those type of people, but sometimes you just can't. Sorry if this is posted already in this thread

Just invent genres. I tell people I'm into Acid Bhangra or Deep Skiffle.

I'd listen to both those genres!
If my wife were posting here she say 'people obsessed with classifying and subdividing genres into increasingly small divisions; just enjoy music!', but she married a man who adores ragga-tek, gypsy-jungle, balkan-core, soviet bass, neo-baile funk and all sorts else, so she's assured a lifetime of annoyance.
I sometimes think of a genre crossover I'd like to exist, type it into Google and often I'm delighted somebody has already created it (worked with swing-tek: electro-swing crossed with hardtek techno). I'm still waiting for somebody to create me some ragtime-tekno...
So, not so much of a 'little thing that annoys the hell out of you' post, but a 'being a little thing that annoys the hell out of people' post. A music genre prick, in other words.
Anyway, I'm off to listen to some baroque donk.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
My post was not about genres but more about how there are lots of people I've met think that Skrillex and the likes are the only type of electronic music out there and when I don't show that are like, that sucks without giving it a chance. Granted I'm not going to say my music or the electronic music I listen to is for everyone. Case in point I've seen that picture of Skrillex posting he liked an Aphex Twin tune on fb and everyone pretty much hating it because of no drop. lol

hah, I was like 1 year old in 1990. Though when I got older, listening to electronic music(early 2000s) was still considered something to not talk about. Though I still did anyways! Sometimes you just can't avoid idiots and you just say what you do so they'll shut up. Happening more and more lately.President_Obama wrote:Stop giving a shit about what people think. Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Don't hate people for being ignorant about electronic music, which hasn't been a thing for mainstream media for about 20 years now.
Their only references today are Skrillex, Daft Punk, or whatever clubbing/dance shit they'll hear on tv/radio.
Seriously, if you want to know about electronic music today you have to look for it on the internet, select very niche webradios and stuff.
Same applies for many music genres, as it does for many video game genres like shmups.
"Shmups ? You mean like COD ?"

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
I think we might be fairly lucky in the UK. In the 90s – from the very early part of the decade – hardcore, jungle, house, rave etc have had plenty of presence in the mainstream charts/radio play. Sure, the core edge of those type of genres probably got a shade softened for/by mainstream exposure, but it certainly still made a huge and credible impact. Hell, it happened in the late 80s here a few times, as I understand it.Xyga wrote:Don't hate people for being ignorant about electronic music, which hasn't been a thing for mainstream media for about 20 years now.

And I think to this day a variety of quality electronic music has had a place in mainstream culture here, and there's a relatively decent understand and regard for it. Of course it could just be my experience, but across my social and professional circles theres a lot of love and understanding for it, festivals always have a healthy (or total) electronic music presence, and there's always a wealth of nights to go out to (again, my existence in East London – and previous time near Brighton – might bias that perspective). Nowadays I could easily go to a number of huge venues playing mainstream drum and base/house or a pokey little place playing Balkan-beat every weekend. Tonnes of it here.

Germany and the Netherlands are okay as well.
France is like a 'third world of music', in all aspects.
Maybe over 95% of the record stores went bankrupt during the early 2000's, and most non-con dance clubs/bars/halls closed doors as well.
Our gov/parliament passed a law sometime in the 90's forcing medias to broadcast at least 40% of exclusive French music. With time in practice it became more like 70% if not 80% (mostly cheesy pop from idol tv shows and insipid hip-hop/r&b).
As major 'free radios' born in the 80's turned into big commercial groups, most indie rock and electro pretty much disappeared from the waves and scenes.
Lesser known artists are kind of starving here anyway, so they either quit or go abroad.

Amsterdam has a two day festival this weekend that's Techno only. Sounds pretty healthy to me. Especially considering the state of Detroit and Chicago lol

Yeah - I get a few vinyls from there. Techno powerhouses, it's long seemed.Xyga wrote:Germany and the Netherlands are okay as well.
Strange that, because in terms of the music I buy on vinyl, France seems a bastion of good record stores and affordable vinyl pressing. I listen to a lot of UK breakcore/raggacore/hardtek etc, and these days, loads of the producers/labels all get their records manufactured in France, because it's apparently lots cheaper. Thus, I buy loads of my more obscure/aggressive/pretentious electronic music from French websites like Underground Tekno and Toolbox. Therefore, I'd always assumed France was great for the electronic. Seems I'm wrong!Xyga wrote:France is like a 'third world of music', in all aspects.
Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
It's not 'dead' but 100% underground/niche yes, absolutely no public visibility, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn they live mainly off international sales, because aside from connoisseurs nobody listens to electro here, you'll never hear any coming from conventional channels.spadgy wrote:Strange that, because in terms of the music I buy on vinyl, France seems a bastion of good record stores and affordable vinyl pressing.
