Daioujou Black Label 1-All

Been working on this fucker for a bit but just couldn't pull the run together, finally got it! Might have a crack at white label, might play something else first. Pleased to have this one under the belt though.

Darius Burst: Another Chronicle A-D-H clear at alamone's meet a couple hours ago. The easiest route in the game, but still pretty tricky in places and very fun. What an awesome game. So glad I got the chance to try this one!

A really underrated game. I like that it has easy courses, and plenty of challenging ones as well. I've been meaning to go back to the arcade and try to beat a different course.

I also used typeB-shot on my first 1ALL, not that you know the game I highly recommend eventually returning to it with typeA-Exy (you might actually find it considerably easier).

Yeah I do feel kind of invincible now! I'm afraid to go back to SDOJ though as I'm pretty sure it'll put me back in my place quick sharp

Finally cleared the normal difficulty of Drill!

For those out of the loop, this is a one stage demo of a Dreamcast game that was under development many moons ago (2005?) by a French independent developer (Handmade Games), that ended up getting abandoned before completion, unfortunately. The demo was free, but these days you can probably only find it on pirate sites. It's only one stage, but reasonably difficult for how short it is (There's no hard difficulty on the demo, though).

I spent a couple of days on Storm Blade, which is pretty okay. The TLB took me quite a few tries. Today I finally cleared the game, with the Mig-29, and reached 2-2.

Some aspects drag Storm Blade down, though, like poor bullet visibility when there are explosions, poor visibility of enemies on stage 5 (green helicopters on green ground), and the absolutely absurd UI that displays the bombs in the lower left corner, which covers your ship when you move there. This is particularly annoying in the second-to-last boss fight.

Congrats! I said the same thing. Then I kept playing for another 35 hours. Then I took a break thinking I was finished with it..

And a month later I'm going for 2-ALL. For me UD is like that girl you know is bad for you, but you can't stay away from her.

could you give a loose estimate on how many hours you've sunk into ketsui to get that 2-ALL, as in once you'd already got the 1-all

Around 200 hours after a 1-all and barely looping a few times(which was around 37 hours of playtime ages ago), mame says 235 hours playtime, most of that was 1st loop practice though

It really depends on how much you want to score in the 1st loop because trying to get 200m+ will get you killed a lot, i got near the 2-all 80 hours in but with way worse scoring
160m 1st loop survival is really safe and not too hard but it gets boring to just play for survival

Yeah, this is one hell of a list to start with. I've been playing for longer than that and still haven't managed any of these.

ahahah, i just feel those 3 games not so hard. i feel mushihimesama futari 1.5 maniac harder for example...
everyday i tell myself that i gotta go back to my dear little old megadrive, and then everyday i finally end on playing cave games

I don't think Futari 1.5 Manic is much more difficult than Ketsui or DOJ 1ALL, maybe a little. Possibly it is because of problems running it in mame? Have you tried 360 ports? There is also Futari Black Label with is a bit easier and a lot of fun. Don't forget older CAVE too (Donpachi, Dodonpachi, Dangun Feveron, Guwange, ESPrade, etc.)

yeah thank you for advice !
i play futari 1.5 on mame slowpoke with 64 blitter delay.
i think second part of stage 4 and stage 5 are so hard.
but i already did 1all on dodonpachi and daifukkatsu on bomb mode.
i don't feel much attracted by older cave games, like esprade for example, i tried, but didn't like much.
my favorite game is still daioujou, but 2nd loop is too difficult
