Am I the only one who thinks that the anime conversations and characters feel very unfitting to astebreed?
Usually i don't have anything against them, but here the game & gameplay is so aggressive that they greatly ruin the atmosphere and feel like they're just slapped on in the final days of development, to get more players to buy it. Hmm.

I kind of like them. The plot for this game is really far out, so I think making the characters recognizable anime archetypes with straightforward objectives helps to ground the far future sci-fi setting and make it relateable. It's a writing trope that works just as well here as it has in a number of the best sci-fi stories like Star Wars and Alien.

Gradius Gaiden 4-Loop clear on Hardest difficulty:Loop 1,Loop 2,Loop 3,Loop 4

Man this was a long playthrough, lasted over 3 hours. Did really crappy during the first 2 loops but started to get in a groove later on.

I just want to say that this game is awesome, one of the best I've ever played. They get everything so right, and the customization and selection of ships adds some interesting elements not present in other games of the series. I can't believe this game never made it to the US, that is just an absolute shame.

@Mills - ^Yeah I remember doing both loops of Last Resort when it first appeared in Las Vegas arcade. Tried it again a few months ago, and yes it is frustrating until you get your route down. -S.L.- knows his stuff on it.

Good to see a Mills 2-ALL Strikers vid still floating around.

TASes of shmups with a grazing mechanic are exceptionally silly.

Almost every ENGRISH dialogue piece from Shikigami No Shiro II \ Castle Shikigami 2. I edited out all of Sayo's coop parts out without realizing it though, but none of them are funny so it isn't a terrible loss.

That looks really cool, even with the TAS I wonder if there's a special invincibility mechanic, when those enemies are right on both sides of the player it seems impossible.
Found the video here in much higher quality too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3M_-GdrkqI

I just upped a couple Akai Katana Limited Ver. White Mode vids, both in 720p.

A high scoring run of stage 1, I finish the stage with just over 327 million:

My best score so far, an 11 billion ALL. Interestingly it shrinks the space in between the characters to fit in the games scoreboard (at the end of the run):

Yup, you da Last Resort Man -S.L- 8)

Thanks to pestro87 my latest Manpuku Last Boss effort is now up:

Skip the low scoring crap first 4 stages and watch from 20:50 onwards. ST2-4 & ST2-5 were strong, but I got caught out by the ferocity of The Last Boss's first form.

Not a video, but I figured this would be the best place to post that YouTube will soon support 60 FPS videos, for those that hadn't heard.

I managed to figure out how to cap stuff with Fraps and shmupmame3, just needs frameskip 6 set, otherwise it's too choppy (Fraps does not attach to shmupmame3 if you aren't fullscreen so you can't do the window resizing trick to help performance)
So, have some Battle Bakraid stuff that I've been sitting on forever:

Buster Lizard Trickplay 30m (check out the end of Railroad / start of Desert, also check out how a ship other than Flame Viper was willingly selected)
Flame Viper 47m older run but there was only a .rep file of this somewhere in hiscores

In the same vein, 3D bullet hell pvp

It gets a lot more hectic if you give a Bal player space to keep throwing stuff out, which you really don't want. Though advanced players will also set up traps against approaches and do some ridiculous setups after knockdown.

That PSO2 boss looks surprisingly fun.
