I ordered from Amazon Japan too, but had it shipped through Tenso and they were nice enough to make the phone call for me and order the replacement disc so I didn't have to deal with it. I haven't received it yet since they just made the call a couple days ago but I must say that was pretty nice of them for doing that.

I'll definitely use their service again for having such good customer service.
Wait wait wait wait wait.

I can just ask Tenso to take care of it for me? I had it shipped to me through them, so if that's an option... well, that'd be fantastic.

Can I just say, I think this whole 'Amazon JP won't sell outside Japan' thing is a complete disgrace, and an anachronism in the 21st Century.

If they have customers, they should serve those customers.

In fact, region locks of any kind are a dumb anachronism in this day and age.

I'd be so disgusted if I had bought this box- I came very close.

I get not shipping to certain markets.

I don't get not supporting someone in the proper region that purchased product from you, regardless of their intentions. If a middleman bought 200 units of a product that winds up being defective, then the logistical nightmare belongs to the middleman. However, the point of sale should have no right to refuse to make good with their direct customer. That's just bullshit. It's none of Amazon's business if the middleman shipped them around the globe.

That's true and actually sounds quite reasonable. Nevertheless, law is not always reasonable...there may be some shit they have to obey just because of the japanese law or something like that...we won't know why are they doing what they're doing unless we get a japanese lawyer or something. :?

Probably because not everyone wants to pointlessly post that they have received their box? Mine has already arrived last week.

Mine arrived last Friday, I ordered it through Arcade Gear though.

Got my replacement: https://twitter.com/elixir68k/status/476858332708216832

A replacement box, another install disc in a slip case, and letter basically what's new (in Japanese, I didn't bother taking a picture of it).

As far as I'm aware, the box is identical besides the replacement of the sticker. The new install disc has the 7 DLC they advertised but didn't include to begin with. The install menu now has the "Cave Shooting Collection Kan" logo instead.

Congrats on that, mate!

Now, may we know what's the exact differences in functionality between the "broken" one and the replacement one, please? Help us vanish this giant cloud of gray steam...

What would you value all the DLC at?
I didn't jump at the chance to buy this box set since I already had all the games but I'd really like to buy all the DLC.
Kind of wish now I had bought the box, oh well....

Tough one, on the one hand it's really the only thing in the box you can't get elsewhere and the box doesn't come cheap.

On the flip side Cave is now distributing a second pressing of the disc to a whole bunch of people for free, and none of the material on it has any usage restriction. You can simply transfer the content to thumb drive. Which is why I continue to wonder why people think there is value associated with DLC codes that provide the same content but restrict it's usage.

Cave didn't send replacements actually, Microsoft Japan did. I used Tenso since my buddy in Japan was busy, and they helped me the whole way. They were also given a reference number, probably to prevent people from requesting multiple replacements.

I'd be willing to sell my previous install disc, but I don't know what to price it at. AFAIK it's just the same install disc as the original collection. All of the DLC is worth around 9600 MSP ($130 USD), but that isn't including the stuff not for sale like MMP's theme, Futari 1.01, Mushi 1.5, Akai Katana's voice pack, DFK's 1.51, MMP's arrange, etc.

Thank you so much for the details, this makes me glad I asked for it to my provider too, which by the way is Arcade Gear and they got me covered too, I strongly recommend their services.

Direct Japan (seller on eBay) is also sending me the missing DLC disc. I can confirm that they also received it from Microsoft's offices.

Gotta' wonder why so many sellers can get the additional dlc from Microsoft, but other sellers can't :?:

Are some import shops like Nippon-yasan just being lazy, not wanting to call the support number provided :?:

I second that. Arcade Gear told me they expected for the DVD to arrive in about 1 - 2 weeks, but the MS guys sent it in 2 days.

Well in that case I'm going to write them a complaint. As everyone who bought from them should do.
