Same impression here, it looks really corny. Cristiano Ronaldo is so cocky he flashed a smile after folding his arms, the only player I've seen doing that, lol

Getting really annoyed with players going down like they are shot in the face. Bepe from Portugal was just demonstrating that he just tapped him in the face (accidentally). Obviously he shouldn't have demonstrated it as he did but the German player shouldn't be allowed to react like he's dying. If FIFA don't take this out of the game we will see it everytime someones hand is raised. This is EVERYTHING that is wrong with football. Ridiculous.

Germans were the better team and deserved 3 points, but damn kick this out of the game please!

USA, I'm not expecting much from you, but for crying out loud don't lose to Ghana. That's the bare minimum you must do.

It will take prayers to God to win against Germany.

If you don't lose by more than 2 goals I will be very VERY surprised.

First World Cup I watched we played Germany in the quarter finals. Lost (by 2) but it was a pretty good game from what I remember. It's rare that America is ever the underdog when it doesn't come to invading countries and warfare in general (or mass shootings, or the dumbest health care system in the free world, or writing checks still... [seriously!] ). So, guess we better enjoy it. Maybe a bad case of the clap goes around the German locker room giving us the edge. You never know.

Ghana deserved more but Usa last years shows being a solid team . Good for Usa for his rematch. Please don't let Klose breaks Ronaldo récord :P

It was a fun game for sure, lots and lots of hanging on. Still, they scored an impressive creative goal and another on a good set piece. Without a doubt the loss of Altidore is huge and had a significant impact on the game. I'll be shocked if he sees anymore action in this Cup.

One question though, since it's the game I've watched the closest so far. Are all the refs having such trouble officiating contested balls?

Reminds me of the first WC I watched (the 1994 one), Brazil x USA in the knockout stage. 0-0 far into the game, both teams are evenly matched, until one of our players catch the ball with his arm and proceeds to score. The referee didn't see it as usual. We totally robbed you guys that day :(

E: It happened on 4th of July on US soil, holy shit.

i really hope they will win their fourth title this year, after losing the final in 2002 and semi-finals in 2006 and 2010.

I'm pretty sure it's "Brazil", not "Brasil".

Also memorable for Leonardo's fairly brutal elbow on Tab Ramos.

Quite a brutal game. 3 faults within 1 1/2 minute and what, 4 yellow cards? :?
Still, Mexico felt like the better team in the end of the day.
