You mean like it's just a simple meter refill?

For bosses, play in Novice Mode. For midbosses, you have to be on your last life, and I'm not sure if there's a limit on how many times it can happen in a run. only way to get Extend items.

Pretty much, but it fills up a good hunk of it, so it can get you back into Break mode quickly.cave hermit wrote:You mean like it's just a simple meter refill?

Yeah, I'm wondering this too....I have actually seen the 1ups drop, but it only seems to be if I don't have full life stock....that's been the only consistent thing I've noticed anyway.cave hermit wrote:Anyone know how to get bosses/midbosses to drop a 1-up along with the other items? I used to see it before the patch, but since then I haven't gotten it to drop.

Pretty sure you only get a 1up drop if you have no lives left in stock.

I'm trying to find some good superplays, especially for the late half of stage 3. Most replays I seem to get are the old non WI version.

There's a WR-level superplay with Type II here: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2317710 ... _key_videomastermx wrote:I'm trying to find some good superplays, especially for the late half of stage 3. Most replays I seem to get are the old non WI version.
And another decent run with Type II: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2115545 ... _key_video
Survival play with Type III: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2079448 ... _key_video
Survival play with Type I: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMtsVaK_aUA
That's all I've been able to find for Original mode. I haven't looked for Boost or Unlimited.

Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
I've been brainstorming other ways to advance Crimzon Clover's domination of the public consciousness. Tell me if this is a crazy idea: Do you think it's possible to get a Crimzon Clover stream on the front of the Twitch gaming page?
Correct me if I am wrong, but the game that displays at the top of the page is simply whichever streamer has the most viewers at the time (unless there is a special event occurring). We could get a bunch of people to pile into one channel all at the same time and day. A Crimzon Clover party if you will
. I don't know if we've got enough people here to push it to the top, though. Maybe on a low traffic time/day?

It would be a lot easier to find a channel that's going to be on the front page anyway and get Crimzon Clover played on it somehow.Blackbird wrote:I've been brainstorming other ways to advance Crimzon Clover's domination of the public consciousness. The channels that are at the top of the twitch page, e.g. the ones that have a chance of autoplaying, are hand-picked by Twitch staff, you can't get on it unless they say so.
You can get a game on the list at the bottom of the page just by getting lots of views on it, yeah, but I'm not sure if people pay attention to that or not.

no one's going to ever give a shit and especially not Twitch, it simply takes too much effort to get anywhere in this genre and singleplayer skill based games are extremely unpopular

Thanks for those Type II runs. They encouraged me to give T2 a try, and I enjoy it quite a lot.iconoclast wrote:There's a WR-level superplay with Type II here: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2317710 ... _key_videomastermx wrote:I'm trying to find some good superplays, especially for the late half of stage 3. Roguelikes are almost completely random and 99% of people don't find routing every second of a 30 minutes long fixed game fun(and without any motivation to become better the game gets shelved in favor of something less autistic real fast)Patashu wrote: Binding of Isaac

Those games have something else going for them that CC:WI doesn't: Western indie-hipster credentials.Patashu wrote:Binding of Isaac

Omg that was painful to watch, here's what they say in the first few minutes: "we have infinite lives, so the challenge is not dying at the same time" and of course the casual favourite "just ignore that, no one cares about score"President_Obama wrote:Super Bunny Hop : Let's Try to Play - Jamestown

Most people here don't route every second of their favorite games anyway. Having a little rng in patterns + smart level design can also work wonders for making a shmup feel fresh with every playthrough, while still having very high skill based goals.Bananamatic wrote:Roguelikes are almost completely random and 99% of people don't find routing every second of a 30 minutes long fixed game fun(and without any motivation to become better the game gets shelved in favor of something less autistic real fast)Patashu wrote: Binding of Isaac

I like to take a bit of a neutral/middle of the road approach. Yes, shmups are niche, but there are still a lot of people out there who like intense/challenging/oldschool experiences (and beyond even the recent Rogue-lite craze, there have been a lot of games that testify to that), and the word needs to be gotten out to them. It's not going to "turn the tide" and make them a super popular genre or anything, but shmups don't have to be more niche than they already are.

Hi,
After seeing World Ignition on Steam I picked it up and also remembered I wrote an unpacker for the .jojo archive format a few years ago.
I never made it public because no one really gave a toss about CC, but with this renewed popularity some people may get some use out of it.
Is it against the TOS to post a file unpacker?

No it's not, it doesn't let you pirate games, you have to own the game first to extract the files, so it's all fine by any means. But yes this would be a great thing if you published it, some people will get an use out of it for sure (including myself when I get World Ignition).glyphic wrote:Hi,

Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
Anyone have any good Boost Mode replays? The best I can muster is around 20 oku, but the guys at the top of the board have more than twice that. I feel like I'm missing something. Maybe I need to improve my survival play? I can usually get a clear on Novice, but a lot of times it'll be on my last life or two.

That file unpacker sounds like something helpful to have. Pardon the noobie question, but what will it allow you to do?

Can you repack it to useable form? I usually turn videogames music down a notch, but it makes the game over riff too quiet. I want to crank that up a bit because I love that part.
