Sync Strike Issue

Post by GareBear87 »

I originally got a scart to HDMI converter for capturing my gaming footage and it looked amazing in every way other than the fact that the pixels became blurry when moving. I don't know whether this is the fault of the converter or the fault of the fact that the PEXHDCAP I use can't record true HD signal. I did read about the Sync Strike being excellent for capturing an RGB signal on a PEXHDCAP so I bought one. It overall looks worse though. The colours aren't nearly as rich and it isn't as great of a picture overall. Especially on my modded RGB SNES Mini it has verticle lines on the image. the snes mini works great with the HDMI converter and on the Monitor I have so I don't know what the issue is.

I'll explain my set up. SNES Mini with Composite Video scart cable hooked up to Shiny Bow with video out put scart to Sync Strike. Then Sync Strike with VGA Cable to VGA to DVI converter into PEXHDCAP.

I guess I'm just wondering if the Sync Strike is just inferior or if I have an issue with mine. I read everywhere its flawless though so I don't know. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Those cheapy SCART to HDMI converters should definitely not be better than capturing directly with a PEXHDCAP. Have you tried the image without the SCART switch in the chain? How about posting some capture screenshots to help us see what's wrong?

Hey Bucko. I've been using AmarecTV but I actually fixed the problem. I changed the extension scart cable to the sync strike and i adjusted the sharpness and it got rid of the lines miraculously!

I've had another issue lately though. When there's too much brightness on my BVM-20F1U it flickers. Is there something in the setting I can do to adjust it?
