Whether or not I get the new kirby game depends entirely on who the main villain is. I'm thinking it'd be pretty sweet if Drawcia and Pantra reunited and attempt to get revenge against kirby together (they ARE sisters, after all), or perhaps a new enemy with a kickass theme, idk.

Anyway, being a brand new Zelda fan, (I've known about the games and their characters for a long time but never got into it. My first Zelda game is the HD remake of Wind Waker) I have little experience with the games, so even if the games don't feel like Zelda anymore, I probably won't notice much, which is a plus for me, imo.

Unless my sister gets the yoshi game for christmas or her birthday or something, I'll probably skip that entirely. I've never been a big fan of Yoshi's games.

I've heard of Bayonetta but never seen or played it, but seeing the E3 trailer made me very interested. The fact that it comes bundled with the first game is a huge plus.

I've already said my fill about Mario Maker, but I will add that it's kind of interesting that they let you switch between classic 2D and new 3D. I just wish they had more 2D, like Super Mario World style, and maybe Super Mario 3 style as well.

Bummer. Well I guess I'll get a PS4 eventually if there's enough good stuff on it. Bloodborne on its own? Probably not enough. What got me to get an X360 was the Orange Box, Mass Effect, Super Meat Boy, and Bioshock. Badass quartet. Doesn't look like there's a great enough deal out there yet to push me one way or another.

I'm guessing they went SMB1 because they judged SMB3 to be too complicated for your average layman. I was kind of amused that they highlighted blocking off the castle at the end of a level. Hackers have been doing creative stuff like that for years, now. When it comes to laymen designing levels, SMW is clearly where it's at, but everything that can be done pretty much has been done by folks at SMWCentral and elsewhere.

Mario Maker looks like fun, but I'm guessing it's a demo and will hopefully have more features in the final build. In it's current state, it looks a bit barebones for a full retail game. It doesn't look like there is currently any way to do water levels or add bloopers, buzzy beetles, or cheep cheeps to land levels (bloopers in land levels was first in SMB2J, but the functionality is actually in SMB1, as well). Hopefully, you will be able to add music, especially since Mario Paint and Wario Ware DIY have this feature. I also noticed that 1ups can be earned, but the levels don't currently keep track of lives. No ability to make rooms for going down pipes either. It seems the demo doesn't have save functionality yet. I'm guessing there will probably be more sample levels, as well.

3DS is getting a turn based strategy game from Intelligent Systems. New IP. S.T.E.A.M. Go read up on it, what we know so far sounds like their take on Valkyria Chronicles. Gameplay tomorrow.

They don't get the benefit of choosing. They are not in that position. They will work for whoever throws some money their way. Evidently, third-party publishers don't want to bankroll their endeavors anymore which leaves them at the mercy of console manufacturers.
And Wonderful 101, too. It's positively wunderbar.
Yeah, I didn't think about that. So I guess I should be more mad at Sony for not getting them on their system!

At least they're pretty productive, and not stuck in tie-in Hell, like Treasure. I think they would fall apart before that would happen.

I'm a bit disappointed with SEGA's E3 showing. Hopefully, they will make an announcement before E3 is over, but I was hoping to hear something about a release of the second batch 3DS 3D Classics in the US.

There are seriously people who are hating on this game because of the graphics. I'm getting so depressed by that. Hoping the gameplay we'll see pretty soon will cheer me up again.

That's the new game by Intelligent Systems, if you didn't get that. 2015 release date so I'm not sure what Nintendo expects 3DS players to play until then.

I'm also disappointed that Sega hasn't announced their 3DS Classics for western release now, but I think it's understandable, it would be drowned out by "bigger" news.

Could've fooled me. I thought it was some Zynga shovelware. Coming off of Advance Wars, this looks really bad.

Super Smash Bros! I'm guessing there is still at least one 3DS announcement left before E3 closes. I'm mixed about the look of Codename Steam, but I like the comic book theme and Intelligent Systems usually delivers gameplay wise.

Edit: I got Project Guard and Codename Steam mixed up.

Ugh, this is underwhelming. Not really hopeful for anything but Mirror's Edge and Hardline.
I scribbled down my thoughts on every game shown as the conference went on because I had too much time on my hands and when I went back and re-read it it was basically filled with "fuck" and "shit".
Kinda bothered by the strong influx of artsy fartsy turds, but hey, the music sounds piratable enough.
I can't be arsed to be excited for Bloodborne and Scalebound when all they showed were fucking CGI trailers. They surely know their audience well. Where's the gameplay? PUBLIC gameplay.

Splatoon is the only game I got really interested in.
Overall nintendo had great games, enough to turn me into a nintendrone and make me want a Wii U (which i'm going to get just for splatoon anyways)

Splatoon also caught my attention. It seems very un-Nintendo-y because of its genre and focus on online multiplayer, but still has the charm and personnality most Nintendo IPs have.
I do not have a WiiU and do not particularly plan on getting one, but I hope this game will find an audience because it is very promising and is an audacious spin on the competitive shooter formula.

Intelligent Systems games have never really excelled in the audiovisual department anyway. What sets them apart is having extremely fun (and sometimes deep) turn-based strategy gameplay. As a fan of the genre, I would actually argue that Intelligent Systems games are among the best turn-based strategy games ever made. I would be very hard pressed to pick between Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, or Heroes of Might and Magic.

Also add me in for the Splatoon camp. A colorful multiplayer shooter from Nintendo with adorable squid girls!? Shmuppin' sign me up for that ASAP! The aesthetics of the game pleasantly remind me of Jet Set Radio (maybe it's just the choice of music for the trailer, lol).

The comparisons on the Internet with Jet Set Radio actually made me check up that game's soundtrack, and there are some really cool tunes in there! :D
I wonder if Splatoon will be full of cool music like JSR's tracks and the trailer's music.

It is not only the music that is similar : the colorful look of both games , the emphasis on painting/tagging walls, the characters' headphones and the urban environments are all valid similarities I think.

Come to think of it, the later Advance Wars games and Fire Emblems aren't really all that strong graphically (Models with tiny feet for the win!). Codename STEAM definitely looks promising in motion and looks to have some interesting features. Also, with the story having Lincoln form the team in the game, they better darn well have him playable!

One thing that did sound promising about Mario Maker in talks is comparisons with Mario Paint. One video of it even showed a fly and fly swatter from Mario Paint. This gives me some hope it will have more functionality in the final build. Hearing about that game was a breath of fresh air too.

I wonder why I hardly hear about Mario Paint. It is definitely neat for a console paint program and even has the ability to create animations and music. The fly swatter mini game is a ton of fun too.

The IP isn't dead, don't worry. They've just decided to move away from racing games for a while, but have said that they will return to Burnout in the future, which I certainly look forward to.

Other than that, I am excited for the new Smash Bros., and I'm hoping Tails from Sonic, Krystal from Starfox, and Ninetales from Pokemon are in it (how I love foxes  ) and I also hope there is an Ace Combat stage due to Namco's involvement. When I saw that glimpse of a new Starfox, however, I couldn't contain my excitement! :P For me, what could be more exciting than anthropomorphic foxes and animals combined with aerial combat *drools* The new Star Wars Battlefront looks like it's going to be awesome as well!

Code Name STEAM looks fantastic. I would complain about the whole "why are the not spending the entire video frame to show the game, who wants to see a rendered 3DS outline", but then I remember the whining over the fullscreen screenshots. Now there's whining about Nintendo making a new IP over making another Advance Wars of Fire Emblem.

Honestly, I see the responses to this game and I actually understand why game publishers are so shitty today: it's not their fault, it's gamers. We don't want new IPs, we don't want honesty from the media. We are obsessed about graphics. Not all of us, sure, but way way too many of us.

Edit: Nintendo won this E3 btw, with Microsoft coming in second and Sony third.

Apart from bloodborne, and zelda u. Nothing really excites me. I don't trust E3 trailers these days. I hold judgement till the games come out. I've seen too many let downs in previous years to do otherwise.

The leaked Bloodborne gameplay trailer(YouTube links keep being taken down by Sony):

The footage is supposedly pretty old and was meant for TGS showing last year.

I'm genuinely excited by what the Wii U has coming up. Excellent additions to an already strong library.

Biggest disappointments: every other system but especially the handhelds because that's what I tend to play most. Was there even a game announced for the Vita? And that Intelligent Systems game just looks dorky-- what's going on with my favorite gaming company by a huge margin?

I really had no expectations for Xbox One and PS4, so how they managed to disappoint nonetheless-- wow!
