PAL-NTSC Signal Converters...

Post by dave4shmups »

Specfically, those that would allow me to hook up a PAL console, like the CD32, to my TV.

My questions are: Where do you find these converters, how much do they cost, and how difficult is installation?

I've seen them as low as $150 or so, but I don't know what kind of quality that provides and it's certainly still ridiculous. A multisystem TV would probably be cheaper to get, although much harder to come by.

I think there are PAL TV capture cards that are fairly inexpensive though. Of course then you'd have to install it in your PC, and hook your PAL CD32 into that.

Yeah, that still is ridiculous!

I thought that you could only buy multisystem TV's if you live in Europe? If not, though, I'd certainly go for one of those before an HDTV!

I thought if you had a mouse for CD32, you could do something to make the system output NTSC...

Capture cards are extremely laggy. No good for fast gameplay, that's for sure.

I think I've heard that as well, I'll go ask on the www.classicamiga.com forums; thanks for the reminder! :D
