Shenandoah: Daughter of the Stars aka Shenandoah Black Legend aka 1993 - Space Machine
Unreleased Amiga Shoot'em up from 20 years go. This went through the press a few months ago already, but I couldn't find any mention of it here on the board, so here we go (and sorry if I just missed the news)
I literally do not fucking believe this. I saw a screenshot of this in Amiga Format in about 1992 and still regularly wonder if it was ever finished. Holy shit.
Polygon's article is :S I don't mind if the artist doesn't know about modern upscaling and CRT emulation methods, but I would expect the journo to look it up. Anyway, somebody had better get on that.
Interesting stuff here, doubt I should take the "bullet hell" thing seriously as I'm expecting something more like R-Type.
If it's good I might even go ahead and get a version.
There are two versions of the game in the making, actually. See http://shenandoah.retro-net.de for the other one, which you can already play in form of a 2-level demo.
I tried 'demo 3' on my Windows 8.1 computer and it just sat there and never ran. I moved it to a Windows 7 laptop, and it rebooted the whole laptop. The game looks neat, but I think I'm moving on.
Making a run 'n' gun with a transforming grappling hook: ChainStaff. Also made a shmup with multi-ships: Shoot 1UP DX, and more .
Sorry to necrobump this thread but was playing this on PS5 and had some questions on some of the Trophies. There's pretty much no information out there on how to get some of them but figured someone might know around here.
Zero: Take no hits on any level
I saw an old post on steam saying someone got this by playing hardcore mode and beating the first level without taking a hit. I tried that and did not get it to pop. Not sure if that's a glitch or if this changed more to no hit run for the entire game.
Pacifist: Kill no enemies except bosses
I can't find anything on this one. Some of the bosses spawn enemies so I don't know if those count or not and again, not sure if this is meant as a single level or a full run.
Most everything else is pretty self-explanatory so far. It's a fun little game that I got free with Devil Engine and would recommend as something a little different.

I did finally get this to pop after beating the first level on hardcore without taking a hit a second time. Now I can't get the 42 deaths one to pop.
