I always thought they did not, and thought that everybody thought they did not. So, in my logic, no one presses the button.

BUT, when I come to the crossing where this guy is already waiting and am really in the hurry, I say to myself maybe it works after all. So I press the button.

That is quite annoying, but also slightly related are those who seem to not be able to walk half a block or less to cross the street at a crosswalk and then get pissed at drivers for not letting them across in a timely fashion.

Not to put a racial thing on it, but in Philly, Asian tourists, and Asian tourists alone, lived and died by those buttons when I lived there. And then you actually go to China or Japan, and auto/pedestrian traffic is a freaking free for all. Anyway, grow a pair and just look to see if a car's coming.

What was really bad was in the shittiest parts of West Philly, where people just crossed the road where/whenever, without bothering to look. More sad than anything.. they just didn't give a shit.

I live in a place where the buttons do work. If you don't press them, you will wait about 13 minutes to cross. Trying to cross while traffic is moving there will get you killed, unless you feel like doing a mad dash across four lanes.

although, right across from my house where the grocery is, the button doesn't fucking work and I hate it
So, I end up running across on the way back [but never on the way to the grocery, since there's a big corner where cars will just pop up out of nowhere and you can't see what's coming until they're really damn close from that side of the road, but you can see the whole way down from the side the grocery is on].

you may have been blacklisted. there is site you can go to unblacklist yourself, but i cant remember right now.

its usually when your ip broadcastd lots of messages through irc, its usually a spyware. check the ban message, it should point you to a site where you can fix that.

Firstly, since there are no rules linked to anywhere on the page, it's safe to say that the same rules as these forums apply. Secondly, there's no justifiable reason to ban someone without warning. Thirdly, said ban took place after I logged out, on a completely different day, which is pretty confusing. Forthly, I'm 22. Being stupid is something everyone does (including you), not just teenagers, so don't lump me in with a group of attention whores for a cluster of chat comments you probably weren't even there for. If you didn't bitch about what I said then, you have no right to bitch about it now.
