Lemmings and Oh No! More Lemmings are both timeless. The puzzles are brilliant, as is walking a huge line of lemmings off a tall cliff for the fun of it ^_-

Didn't think much of Lemmings 3D though.

What about Lumines ?
My only concern is that runs are a bit long.

Quick question for anyone who might know...is Battle Balls playable in MAME (or any other emu)? There are apparently ROMs for it, but they don't seem to work, at least when I've tried them...anyone know anything else about it?

Bombastic is Devil Dice with explosive chain reactions that kill you if are standing on or near the dice when they explode. If anything, it is more hectic to play Bombastic, as you are often running around trying not to get blown up. Bombastic also includes the original Devil Dice as a game mode (without the explosive reactions).

Puzz Loop ("Ballistic" on PSX), Puzz Loop 2, Zuma (PC), Tumblebugs (PC)

All of these games have the same kind of gameplay with a turret in the middle that shoots balls at an ever-advancing chain of different-colored balls. Three or more balls together will eliminate them from the chain.

Well it did get a home port on the PS1 titled Mezase Senkyouh or something like that.

I haven't seen one on ebay for a couple of years though, and i was outbid on it when it did pop up last.
You're arguing for a universe with fewer waffles in it. I'm prepared to call that cowardice.

Yeah, I'm currently using mame32 .99, works great. Think it's the same hardware as Raiden Fighters. Check the link in my sig, I'm sure it runs well in newer versions. Good game.

I've been enjoying Mr. Driller a lot lately. Just cleared the 5000 ft. course. And the time trials are brilliant, great game. The PC port is amazing, never crashes, haven't tried it for PS2, DC, or PSX though. G PCB is on it's way to me  I was going to ask whether the PS port has any advantages over the PCB, but I figured nobody would know or care, and the port is impossible to find anyways.

Bombuzal on Amiga and SNES is a bit of a lost gem - although I think it was re-named Ka-blooey on SNES or something stupid along those lines. Lemmings 2 ruled as well.

lemmings is apparently coming to the psp, which has seriously pissed me off. why would you port something like that to such an unsuitable platform that i don't own? a ds port would have been great and controllable due to the stylus. i wouldn ahve been first in line

I recently just started getting into puzzle games after a 4 or 5 year break from them. I absolutely love Pipe Dream, I just wish that it had a sandbox mode on the GB version and that the predesigned levels got a lot harder before the game ended.

I think I like Polarium, but my roommate won't ever let me play the DS, so I can't be sure.

PSP version looks nice, but now you mentioned it, the DS was MADE for Lemmings. 2nd screen wouldn't be much use, but the added control finess offered by the stylus would be a dream come true. Here's hoping...

Yes, shame that Lemmings is owned by Psygnosis, and Psygnosis is owned by Sony.

Not much chance of seeing it in a Nintendo system... :)

For some reason, I always figured it was a bastardized/gimmicky rehash. But that actually sounds awesome.

Deep underground Mr Driller is laughing at the puny puzzle games mentioned in this thread.

Thank you Neon for knowing what's up. Also Star Trigon and Pop n Pop certainly deserve to be mentioned. Oh yeah, Ghostlop by Data East is another all time king daddy puzzler.

I made the mistake of thinking of looking for ROMs for my old Apple ][ games that I can't run anymore... I found Gumball and Alice in Wonderland--the former I could never play because the game is TOTALLY DEPENDENT on colour, and we had a monochrome monitor, and the latter I very nearly beat except that it glitched near the end and never worked properly since :x

Alice is pissing me off, though, because no ROM I can find of it works after getting to the Looking Glass

I'm not completely sure, but I have a feeling that the story mode with the race and drillstone stages and the Time Attack are exclusive to the PSX version of Mr. Driller G.

I wish I had my G for PS1 here. The PCB has race and battle modes as well as the rgular single player drilling. The PS1 has that cool story mode but I honestly can't recall what the other differences are. I haven't played any of these games besides the first on DC and Ace on GBA in a long time.

Huge thanks to Neon, who first brought Magical Drop III to my attention probably 9 months ago. I finally got it and it's great fun. Highly recommended.

I've been playing Penguin Land on SMS and Fire N' Ice on NES lately. FNI is getting pretty hard.

I've been playing Hexic HD on my 360 a whole lot lately... Got 10 of the 12 possible achievements now (the remaining ones are the "play 100 games" achievement and the most complex winning formation (a flower of black pearls.) You can try it out here if you're not familiar with it. It was designed by Alexey Pajitnov, and is quite good.

Well, this is a bit different from what most people think of as a puzzle game, but I always enjoyed the old Sierra adventure/educational game Castle of Dr. Brain. The first part of the game is really easy, but there are some good brain teasers towards the end.

No one as yet mentioned the Compile ( RIP ) programed Japan only - GBA Guru Logic Champ.

A solid gold lost classic, which needs a reprint if the ownership rights can be sorted out.
