Dang, very nice, deexor! I know I've seen you updating your scores often in the Akai Katana Hi-Scores thread, so you've been working pretty hard, no doubt! Getting 1st in a leaderboards of some sort, especially JP leaderboards, is nothing to scoff at, indeed! I bet that fellow, General of AKF, must be feeling pretty mad right now, lol!

Time for an embarrassing one:
After at least 2 years, I finally managed to 1CC Thunder Force V Normal.



Would've done it sooner, but for as piss-easy as TFV is, the last boss is such a pain in the ass.

I wish Mania mode was already unlocked - now I have to train to beat Hard. I might be burnt out on TFV by the time I get Mania.

My 1CC list is now up to like half-a-dozen games. Knockin' 'em down!

Even as a young n00b, I recognised TFV's vacuum-packing 99% of its difficulty into the last couple minutes wasn't cricket. Now am I wont to say it ain't shit but a bunch of dicks!

Sha-weeet OST and menu screens though. I think I got the SS version 99% because of that and 1% for lingering resentment at all the system's good games being imports back in the day.

To illustrate how obsessive I am, I actually owned the Saturn version once upon a time, but sold it because I was sick of the "cruise for 25 minutes until the final boss" playthroughs. I never put it on higher difficulty; it probably would have convinced me to keep the game. A year later when I found a cheap PS1 copy I had sufficiently stewed in regret enough to rebuy it. While part of me would like the Saturn version, another part of me shouts very loudly that it isn't worth it, and one damn Thunder Force V is enough. I can certainly agree that it's one of the nicer-designed console-exclusive shooters from the era... That's not to say it isn't blown out of the water by Einhander or maaybe R-Type Delta (when I'm in a good mood from not dying from memorizer hell).

The real challenge now will be unlocking that Master mode. Or more enjoyably, clearing Thunder Force II.

Congrats emperorIng! It dosn't matter how long it took you to clear it,you stuck with it and did it! Nice one! You shouldn't play it down,feel good instead of embarrassed or apologetic! The only tf I've cleared is tf III,I'd love to do IV and V...to busy with ketsui at the moment though to play much else.

Thanks for the congratulations - it's only embarrassing because I should have pulled it off much sooner, and it's only normal, ha.

If you can survive stage 3 of Ketsui, you have more than enough skill to clear all of the Thunder Force games. Except maybe TF2.

Not only that, but I managed to record it, too! The video will be up shortly~

I only got 223 million though, which is my 4th best overall ^.^ All those extra lives didn't help too much against the total absurdity of 2-4, though...

Did a 1cc of 360 Normal Difficulty Raiden Fighters and a 360 Normal Difficulty Raiden Fighters Jet All3(with TLB)

Still need to 1cc Raiden Fighters 2 since I had gotten the 1cc achievement for that by using Practice difficulty where nothing shoots at you, so it obviously doesn't count.This will wait until I clear the Full Run though on Normal, or I may just skip 2 for a while and go straight to playing Arcade difficulty on Jet since that game is so much better anyway.

Captured the final boss's final attack for the first time

I would like this to mean '1CC in sight cap'n!' but I'm getting consistently hit by like 6 other attacks of the final boss atm.
Further study/practice required.

I don't know how to count this as an accomplishment because I did this on CaveUI, which doesn't seem to have any slowdown at all. If there was slowdown, it was the occasional chugging frame.

Nyxx Hard 1cc!~

Dear god this was frustrating. The game's difficulty increases hyperbolically, it must have been at least ten times that I went into the crazy final stage with maxed lives -- only 5 here -- and still lost. And even if you make it through most of the stage okay, the final boss will still obliterate you unless you have at least 3 or 4 lives left >_<

I see this as an accomplishment, though it is neither a 1cc nor a impressive feat for an advanced player (probably):
Made it to level 8 ship (Final ship level) in Mars Matrix for the first time
Because I chained around +1300 in stage 3 and around +1000 in stage 5

Unfortunately it didn't save because the VMU reader on my TC3 stopped working again I took a photo though

Congrats, Ruldra! I might be inspired to go for the clear, though by stage 4 of Raiden I am in a sorry state.

Uh, just a final heads-up: at this point everyone knows that using the red ship makes the game harder, but I wasn't aware how hard it becomes.

I just had a run on the 1P side for fun and it's not just harder, the rank difference is massive. More enemies appear and the bullets are so much faster, it's crazy. Unless you want a challenge, you REALLY should stick with the blue ship.

I actually didn't know rank changed with the ships.
Well, it might make the clear more doable if 2P is easier. Does anyone recall if The Raiden Project allows you to select what ship you start with?
