The scoring is very similar to Dangun Feveron. You get coins which float down the screen and then up and away. Collecting them adds to a Coin value thing. If you go into Burst Mode the coins are worth more, as well as all coins that were on screen disappearing, so you can use it to safe your coin value. Bullets still cancel when you kill enemies or parts of enemies and it is not overly hard. I also found it somewhat confusing in places, plus when in Tate mode the Burst Bar is WAY big and takes up loads of the left side of the screen, where it can be hard to see coins behind it sometimes.Pretas wrote:Wish there was some decent video of Burst Mode, so I could have an idea of whether the game might be worth buying this time around.

Re: Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst coming to Xbox 360
Oi, a 1 month delay, a typical 5pb mishap, sometimes its about 2 weeks or so, but yeah, at least this confirms Region-Free on the Poster, and a supposed release (now also on their main game page of BS:IB.) of 5/29.
Just hope it doesn't get delayed yet again, but like previous titles they did before hand, I wouldn't worry about it. Just hope those that get it would see how the new modes play out.

So zako fire still cancels upon enemy deaths, as in the vanilla version? Sounds like it's still not worth a purchase.ptoing wrote:The scoring is very similar to Dangun Feveron. Re: Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst coming to Xbox 360
Yep, it does cancel, and on bosses stuff cancels if you destroy parts. It's not a very hard game.
Also it has bullet wobble, which of course can not be avoided in 3D games, unless you don't have horizontal scrolling like in Ikaruga or Eschatos. I found it quite confusing in places.

The first game didn't have bullet wobble though

It is not most noticable on the bullets, but on the coins, since those move slower. As soon as the play area where the ship, bullets and other stuff is scrolls at a different speed than the ground horizontally, you will have wobble. AFAIK it is unavoidable in a 3D game that uses an actual perspective camera IF you also have horizontal scrolling.

Re: Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst coming to Xbox 360
Yeah, it seems like Caravan Mode just bumped its difficulty a bit harder, due to some new enemies and shot patterns, also, I just lol'd that there's one certain enemy that has a certain bullet pattern from Mushi 2 in this (I think). Well, this is from a little Score Attack tourney challenge from Dengeki Online. I'll just put the top one here that no-missed it, lol. (And yes, Loop is playable in there this time around.)

IMO caravan modes should be mandatory in every game. Is the best way to compee in a game IMO, getting the best score in limited time.
I hope for some extra content due to the delay.

It looks like version 1.5.........
Re: Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst coming to Xbox 360
Because it is. This was never promoted as a sequel.Liquid Snake wrote:It looks like version 1.5.........
If zako bullets no longer canceled I might consider the game worth my time and money, but as it stands it still isn't.

Re: Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst coming to Xbox 360
I didn't bother with the original Bullet Soul but I'll probably get this, since it's very likely to be the final retail STG on 360.
Re: Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst coming to Xbox 360
Final retail shmup on 360? I don't know. I think MS officially has said in the past that they're supporting the console through 2015. Still leaves some time for other shmups to come along. Obviously, we won't see homebrew scene like what we've seen on the Neo or the DC, but as long as there's still a way to print official discs, I think there's still a chance of more shmups.Mero wrote:I didn't bother with the original Bullet Soul but I'll probably get this, since it's very likely to be the final retail STG on 360.

Three more years of continued 360 support from the Xbox One's US release is what they said. That would be the end of 2016.

Re: Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst coming to Xbox 360
I guess support from M$ means nothing of new games being released or not
the 360 could turn into the new DC, who knows?

Re: Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst coming to Xbox 360
Well there's unlikely to be any more Cave releases on 360... there's always the remote possibility a small publisher may go for a Raiden Fighters Aces style compilation for the system before "official" releases end. I'm sure a Raizing compilation would go down well - Battle Garegga, Battle Bakraid, Armed Police Batrider...

Re: Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst coming to Xbox 360
Well maybe something will come out of the blue to surprise us, but asthings stand I just don't see where the next release is coming from. Hopefully I will be proved wrong
Re: Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst coming to Xbox 360
I would say that's unlikely. Dreamcast, Neo have little to no protection. So it's fairly easy to reach anyone still interested in those consoles with homebrew releases. On 360, you would have to target people who modded their console. Not as easy to do in a commercial context.Kollision wrote:I guess support from M$ means nothing of new games being released or not

Re: Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst coming to Xbox 360
It could kick around for a while longer with official releases, which are what really matter, anyway. I don't think anyone's going to be sad if the 360 misses out on the equivalent of Last Hope or Dux.genetik wrote:I would say that's unlikely. Dreamcast, Neo have little to no protection. Re: Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst coming to Xbox 360
Well, now that BS:Infinite Burst is out, I wonder for some first impressions on how different this version is from the original (including the new modes and such), and its also available digitally (Games on Demand) for near 500 yen less, lol. (Game size is 1.80GB)
Now time to play the waiting game...(and hopefully to test out the R-F-ness, even though the poster said it would, I'd wait until someone with multi 360's within diff. regions to test it out.)

Seconded, any thoughts on the game? Its sort of surprising to me, even for as unpopular as the original game's seemed to be on these boards, I figured more people from the community would have purchased it...Phellan Wolf wrote:Impressions please

I've got it pre-ordered, though NCS still hasn't updated the game's release status from "TBA"...I'll email them on Monday if I don't get a shipping confirmation by then.

Nin-nin game still has the limited edition. Would be my first time with them. Sending to Canada. What should I expect?
Re: Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst coming to Xbox 360
As someone who owns the original and all the DLC, I'm really interested to know about the differences. Is burst mode the only new aspect or does the game itself have any new stages or enemy placement? Is the caravan mode the same as the dlc version in the original?
