I really like the Pointblank series, I wasted many credits on what I think it was Pointblank 3 in an arcade near here, before it closed.

But I always loved Shooting G on the Master System, which I hear many people consider to be one of the worst light gun games in the SMS.

I enjoy this kind of game more than the "Time Crisis" or "Operation Wolf" kind.

Can't go wrong with the Time Crisis series, Point Blank series, and the good old GunCon. :)

I was browsing Ebay for PS1 Area 51 tonight, when I saw this auction with one complete game and two Punisher light guns:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Area-51-Playstation ... dZViewItem

But here is another Area 51 auction with a different looking light gun which the seller claims is made by Konami:

http://cgi.ebay.com/AREA-51-CRYPT-KILLE ... dZViewItem

IS that a Konami Justifier, and, if so, is it better then the 2 Punishers listed in the first auction?

And what about the "Gunz" light gun for the PS1?

Project Titan is a lot better than Time Crisis 1, at least on the PSX.

PT is a PS only release

Just to avoid confusion, and yes it looks good, never played it with a light gun though *sigh, I wish*

Project Titan sounds pretty cool!

So, which of those light guns in those auctions is the best?

Virtua Cop 3 is still listed as TBA 2005; here's hoping it does get an XBOX release-a game that new would probably be 360-compatible.

Nah, VC3 on the Xbox's never happening. Stupid Sega...

Anyways, best light gun game for the PS1...I'd have to say it's Time Crisis: Project Titan. The original's a light gun classic as well, so if you see it definitely go ahead and buy it. There's also basically a whole other game on the original Time Crisis, so yeah. Project Titan was my first PS1 light gun game; I remember most reviews panned it, but fuck em, Project Titan is solid. I love that 'Caruban' accent of the taxi driver.

If you've got a PS2, though, definitely pick up every light gun game (feel free to pass on Ninja Assault though, big disappointment for me). PS2 Time Crisis 3 is my favorite light gun game of all time, it's simply amazing in every aspect. As with the PS1 original, TC3 also basically has a whole new game added on from the perspective of the woman -- and imho, I think it's better than the main game.

Elemental Gearbolt is killer, the difficulty was ramped way up from the Japanese original. It's one of the few light gun games out there with a feeling of ambience and serenity...hell, it's probably the only one. For its time, the graphics really astounded me. It's also GunCon compatible.

how are Area 51 and Maximum Force for the PS1? most reviews say they aren't as good as Time Crisis or Elemental Gearbolt. but they look cool and they're rated "M" so i'm assuming their a bit more violent than the Time Crisis games.

I think Point Blank is the most entertaining light-gun game so far.

I have all three Point Blank games, Project Titan and Ghoul Panic.

By far the winner is Point Blank 2, especially when you have mates around, and possibly even combine it with a drinking game :) . Everything else seems pretty average.

Is Elemental Gearbolt for PS1 or PS2?

I bet Area 51 feels a little dated nowadays. I used to play it a lot with a friend in this same arcade that had Pointblank 3, up until the point we 2cc it (1 credit for each). It was lots of fun back at time, but I already felt the graphics were really lacking.. (if you care for such thing)
