Would the japanese players make enough noise to guarantee a physical release?

Although, what would be the equivalent in Core 2 Duo terms? Anyone know?
I'd say any C2D is gonna beat a P4 hands down no matter what
Yeah the P4 was pretty inefficient, but definitely part of the GHz marketing race.

Beautiful retro-inspired arcade graphics, revived for the modern gamer
We want the casual audience.

Also "Crimzon Clover puts a much-needed polish on the classic Shoot 'Em Up genre" is the most fucking retarded thing I've read in a while.

It'd be nice if 2hu fans here knew about the games: they just think it's an anime they've never watched...

2hu would be something about super artistic patterns and music

to be honest the nesica version does seem very polished compared to the doujin release(and it was needed too)

Yeah, the Nesica version does look vastly superior. I'm rustled about the word "genre" though.

Put up a YouTube vid for anyone who doesn't want to see the Steampowered page for some reason - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyWFF1sNfKM

For some reason they butchered the quality even though I downloaded literally the hi-res FLV that Steam uses. Weird.
EDIT: And now it displays in the proper 480p just like the original vid. Additional processing after processing I guess.

Like I noticed before, a line like that is becoming a requirement if you're advertising to a bigger audience than shmups forum.

It's true.

You guys have to realize that that stuff isn't intended for players like us. It's intended for the type of people who maybe like "retro" or "hardcore" games a little, enough to maybe play one once in a while, but if they're going to pay money for a shmup, they need to hear stuff like how it "reinvents the genre" or "has polish rarely seen in the genre", because otherwise they're going to take look one look at it and be like "why would I pay money for this when I could play Touhou for free*? All these bullet hell games are the same anyway" etc.
Spoiler
*Of course it's a given that they don't realize Touhou isn't actually free.

I don't think PC is a good gaming system, and I don't use Windows.

I like the PC as a gaming system because of keyboards. It's hard to get a good keyboard "system" going for another platform, chiefly because everyone is expected to use game controllers.

Maybe there can be an argument being made that dedicated gaming systems are more suited for some types of games (shmups being one of them), but overall there are good games on pretty much any system which are worth playing. And CC is surely one of them.

Is there a chance that the Japanese release of this will be handled as a large patch for the vanilla doujin version? Or are they trying to get more JPN players to use Steam?

I doubt it will be a patch. That seems kinda unpractical. Just giving out a free patch or something for people who own the original would not earn Bouken any money, plus it probably is a bit more involved than just some simple patch.

Maybe they feel like since there is no Nesica in the west a Steam release of this which can also target us Westerners will be a good way to get some extra monies. Who knows.

So has Japan an official release date or Yotsubane said anything about it?

Is the Type Z ship in this? How does it unlock in the NESiCA version?

I'll probably be too busy/lazy to go back to the original to get enough stars for it, so I hope I can try it out here.

Split automated scoreboard discussion to here:

As an aside, any further Steam/DRM discussion not directly related to CC:WI will be similarly snipped away to another place to be determined.

Uuungh yeah, great to see the promo vid at last!

For those who already own a prev version of the game: what do you think of the minimum & recommended PC hardware specs listed on the Steam page?

What kind of rig would you need to run CC:WI comfortably with no unintended slowdown/overheating?

The minimum system requirements for the World Ignition version and the system requirements for the doujin version are mostly the same, with the World Ignition version requiring a little bit more hard drive space and also having Windows 8 support. The recommended requirements just seem to double everything, and without any certainty, I'm guessing you'll want to be meeting or exceeding those in order to have a smoother experience.

Hey Everyone,
Excited to see all the interest in Crimzon Clover World Ignition.
I work for the company that is publishing this internationally (Degica).

If you have any questions about the release, game, etc. let me know
and I'll do my best to answer (or track down an answer from the dev).

cheers,

Mitchell

Could you please bribe the powers that be to release it a day earlier by giving them big bags of money? I'm on holiday when it's released and this would be very much appreciated.

On a serious note : a little unrelated but if Crimzon Clover turns out to be successful enough - will you be considering trying to bring other pc based arcade shooters to Steam?

Welcome!
