imho no one should guilt anyone into releasing anything unless they want to. As much as I want trap to share his discoveries I respect that it really is up to him. Because you can never really tell what's happening in another person's mind, or how they feel about something. I think the point I'm trying to make is that sharing is by volition.

Yeah its not like most of the games are easy to get to 360, you dont need to get PCBs, half of the games are even available in PAL or region-free. So dont be cheap and just buy the games if you want to play them so bad. I got DDP-DFK for no more then 12 Euro so yeah

A quick look into Mame history shows their first generation hardware titles have been added as 'working' between a period going from 2001 to 2003, that's 13 - 11 years ago, right when the first significant websites and boards dedicated to the shmup genre went online (lol).

It would be interesting to have a full report on games sales since Cave started selling shmups and draw a parallel with the status of the arcades business, evolution of consoles sales and games genres, and also keep an eye on when Cave did begin to include overseas sales in their fiscal year closing accounts job.

This way we may have a clearer vision on when emulation really started to murder Cave and shmups in general, and how badly.

Just an idea... even though I know that won't happen and nobody will give a damn. I know I don't really...

Imo mame helped cave more than anything else. If it wasn't for mame, I wouldn't know about them. And I wouldn't be buying their games just for the sake of supporting them.

the titles aren't exactly abandonware... and I'm not sure about anyone else, but I wouldn't want to be the person responsible for fixing sh3 emulation for the masses. it really isn't largely beneficial to anyone other than the people who don't want to pay to play their games.

Not to mention that the game run was actually an 8 year span that concluded less than 2 years ago. It's a far cry from the way the "for like 15 years" statement portrays it. We're talking about recent games that are still being sold at retail.

That's only my opinion but I think most members here actually spend quite a bit of money on shumps and video games as a whole, and I can't picture much people outside of such a community being really on to pirating shmups.
