Caladrius & Caladrius Blaze
Re: Caladrius
Progress update:
Though my sanity begins to fail me, I will not rest until I achieve my no-miss run with Lilith. This was the fruit of tonight's labor, but I blew my multiplier on one of Grahams attacks that never kills me, and just didn't really have any fucks to give after that in stage 6. Was my nerves that got me I think.
ACSeraph - 44,587,310 - ALL - Lilith - Default

Re: Caladrius
Still haven't achieved my goal, but this was today's progress:
ACSeraph - 48,437,210 - ALL - Lilith - Default
I died on Graham, which absolutely murdered my score. Worst part was that it was a spot I pretty much never die at. Just a fluke, story of my life.
However today has been a productive day in this game. I've cleaned up a few parts of the run with some new discoveries, and more importantly, I've solved the final mystery of Caladrius' scoring system which I never understood. Specifically why sometimes my score would be great and my multiplier would be high, but I would end up with even less skill gems than usual. But now I know, the multiplier and score has nothing to do with your weapon leveling. Weapon experienced is gained for all damage dealt with your magic weapons, and is unrelated to magic weapon kills. So basically, you want to use them as much as you can to deal damage to bosses even when it isn't necessary. In this way, I was able to have an additional skill gem by stage 3, which made a massive difference in my score. A perfect run now yields me over 52 million, I just have to pull it off. I'm going to send some messages to the guys who remain above me once I finally reach the score, to see whether they were running default or not. I have a feeling the world record score can't possible be all that much higher than what I've devised (I can score maximize stage 6 for god's sake).
On the topic of the 56 million record for AC, I went and played last night (though not original mode because it's boring). I never noticed when I was scrubbing it with Lilith, but now that I know her perfectly in Vanilla it's clear she is a vastly superior character in AC. She does a lot more damage; her magic weapons appear to do almost double what they do in Vanilla. And she's faster, and the magic recharge rate is far higher, so there are definitely far more scoring opportunities available to her than their are in Vanilla. Considering that, and also how precise my run is, I'll be surprised if the 1rst and second rank players on the Vanilla boards got their scores default. I believe the 65 mil is actually impossible. If the 54 was default, it had to be an insanely godly run, using different strategies from my own.
Oh and also I got this arcade score last night, it wasn't a no miss, but it was pretty good performance. I died on the final boss unfortunately. There's a lot of room for improvement though given Lilith's impressive new abilities, and I think to get god tier scores you have to get perfect rank on the bonus stages, which I have no idea how to do.

Re: Caladrius
I did it. I finally fucking did it.
ACSeraph - 50,560,760 - ALL - Lilith - Default
No miss.
I have never worked so hard at a game in my entire life. I've seen the score go as high as 52 mil during my practice runs. But I made an error during the beginning of stage 5 that hurt the multiplier, and also fucked up a few things during the Graham fight itself that cost me my final level up gem and a bomb. I don't really care at the moment though, because I think this score is reaching the very top of what can be done with Lilith default.
Even if I were to break 51 Kollision could easily shatter that number by simply executing his route without mistakes. Lilith can't compete with his weapons. But I don't care, because as far as Lilith is concerned, this run was a work of art. And just so you know Kollision, I was inspired to take this game to the next level by watching your run. Your score optimization was absolutely glorious to behold. Major thanks for sharing what you were able to accomplish.
I PMed the two guys above me to see whether their runs were default or not. As I said before I don't believe the 65 could possibly be default, but there's a chance pria's run was default based on what I've seen from my own experimentation. Once they reply I'll know whether I took the record as was my goal or not.

Re: Caladrius
Really great work, a no miss would be unthinkable for me , it's a shame this game doesn't save replays.
Great Caladrius AC score, too. First one that's been submitted.

Re: Caladrius
pria just replied to me, his run was custom using Maria1/Lilith1/Wind1. He said he levels up wind 4 times, and then doesn't level up the other weapons at all, just hoards the ether chips.
He is also friends with the guy who holds the record at AC and he linked me to this superplay
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHErZj1 ... e=youtu.be
This is apparently the best custom scoring set and method in AC.
The guy at number 1, Melon Ozisan, definitely plays custom, as he holds a few of the records in AC original and always gets around 61 mil, so he must be using the same custom set with similar scoring tactics across all characters.
...which means my Default Lilith score is in fact the current Vanilla world record, assuming there aren't other undocumented scores out there.

Re: Caladrius
o hai
Daily practice session yielded this:
ACSeraph - 51,525,770 - ALL - Lilith - Default
Unfortunately I got fucked over in stage 6 at a very bad point (literally right after the main wave you use to build the multiplier) which cut about 1 mil off this score. One of those typical situations where you get pinned in a corner and have to move up slightly to break through and change directions. As Murphy's Law dictates one of those fuckers teleported right on top of me and point blanked. Not really something within my control. Interestingly in AC because they are kill-able, when they teleport into point blank range like that you will end up killing them before they fire. Removes a lot of cheese from this stage thank god.

Now that's a fuckin' score:
ACSeraph - 54,323,140 - ALL - Lilith - Default
No Miss.
I honestly don't believe I can ever possibly top this one. This was a frickin' superplay right here. Very very proud of it, and I think with this my days of chasing scores with Lilith are over. Until Blaze that is...
Thanks for all the support during this guys. Helped keep me motivated through the often hellish process that went into creating this run.

^Got one to fit every mood
Unfortunately I don't have any recording equipment so no, short of maybe making a super ghetto recording of the TV with my phone or something. And it doesn't save replays so I would have to do a fresh play if I were to ever try recording anyhow :\
I'm guessing Blaze will have replays though, so uh, buy Blaze I'll definitely be aiming for the top with her in that one too.

Re: Caladrius
Nice improvement, you've taken it to such a level that you could probably have a go at some of them Caladrius AC scores.
Re: Caladrius
Thanks
I probably could take the original mode score if I wanted to, but the mode is so mind numbingly boring that I doubt I'll have the motivation to try. I'm not really dying to become the king of novice mode. Arcade mode on the other hand is an entirely different beast, and I don't yet understand all of the nuances of it's scoring system. My guess though is about 10 mil or so has to do with the bonus stages, but I don't yet understand how to get a perfect rank in them.
The other problem is I can barely ever play it, because the Guilty Gear players are usually all over the All.Net machine... <_<

Re: Caladrius
I did this a while ago but I forgot to upload it. Here's an update to my AC score:
Caladrius AC: Arcade Mode
ACSeraph - 80,256,238 - ALL - Lilith - Default
Still not a no miss but it was a pretty good run. I managed to die at the very start of Stage 3 somehow, but luckily it was before the first really huge zako swarm so I was able to recover my multiplier rather quickly. Still have no idea what I'm doing in the bonus stages though :\

Re: Caladrius
Nice improvement
You probably didn't notice but any idea how some of those scores have a number in the final digit instead of a zero? Seems a bit strange
EDIT: I suppose something in the bonus stages must give you odd numbers, since it only happens in AC.
EDIT 2: Looking at the Caladrius AC world record scores, I think there's just something a bit wacky about the scoring in AC, scores in arcade and original have odd digits at the end.
EDIT 3:Looks like arcade mode has a score ceiling of about 94 million.

Re: Caladrius
Does the final digit indicate something else (as with some shmups where the final digit incites number of credits used; obviously not the exact case here, but maybe something akin to that system?)
Re: Caladrius
It must have something to do with the bonus stage, since it only appears in the scores from stage 3+ and is always 8. The first bonus stage comes in between stage 2 and 3. I don't know about the Maria score at the bottom with 9 though since it's not mine.
Re: Caladrius
Well, shall we get started:
Caladrius Blaze: Original Mode
ACSeraph - 47,318,330 - ALL - Lilith - Default
This would have actually been the overall number one for all characters on the leaderboards, but for some reason it didn't upload it. Don't care though it was a shit run, I managed to die FOUR times in stage 4. I think mostly because I felt apathetic after the first death.
In other news: Blaze is godly. Original mode features a total re-balance of the characters, entirely new characters, the original deep scoring system, the bits in stage 6 are now kill-able to make it less bullshit. This right here, is everything I had wanted from AC. I would have paid $70 for this mode and nothing else to be honest.

Re: Caladrius
Update to that score:
Caladrius Blaze: Original Mode
ACSeraph - 54,478,690 - ALL - Lilith - Default
Really disappointed this wasn't a no miss. On the last two seconds of the final boss fight I wasn't really paying attention because I thought I had it in the bag (got cocky) and ran right into one of the spinning orbs. Luckily for me stage 6 is probably the lowest scoring so it didn't hurt the run too severely.
Overall it was a decent run, though there were some unclean points in the scoring. Not sure if it's possible to edge out that Kei score or not, but I'm sure in time other better Kei players will push it to realms unattainable by Lilith so I'm not too worried about it. I just wanted to get a good solid stranglehold on the first place Lilith position before diving into Evolution. Did an Arcade mode run earlier too, would have been a no miss if not for getting clipped during the sword grid (the positioning is so strict that you can get clipped without ever knowing it's coming) Should have just bombed *sigh*
Anyhow my previous Arcade score is still better so I won't post it. The one from this morning is currently second on the leaderboards under a Default Alex with a massive 86 mil score. There has to be something I'm missing about the scoring, I don't understand how all the characters are able to push it close to the 90 mil mark.
Onwards to Evolution!

Re: Caladrius
Nice early score, I shall cobble together a Blaze Original tabe immediately.
I haven't grabbed this yet but probably will do soon, I might try and grab a PS3 stick first though. I've only been a PS3 owner since last December and I've basically used it as a JRPG box up until this point, I don't particularly fancy playing STG with a Dualshock 3.

Re: Caladrius & Caladrius Blaze
Thanks!
Yeah I play on a pad, but I do actually recommend a stick. I seem to accidentally move myself diagonally a lot in this which has... unintended effects. I never really had that issue on my 360 pad. Definitely grab the game though, it's such a huge improvement over the already pretty excellent Vanilla; I absolutely love it.
Been working on Evolution and decided I had learned enough to go for an initial full run:
Caladrius Blaze: Evolution Mode
ACSeraph - 107,867,140 - ALL - Lilith - Default
I royally fucked up stage 4 as usual, so the score was damaged pretty severely, otherwise it probably would have even edged out that Custom Lilith above me. But at least I'm the overall top score for all default characters
Aside from dying (3 times!) in stage 4 this was a no miss with some basic score optimization. The EX stage was routed, and the bosses were all killed using Evolution. I'm sure there are additional areas for improvement within the actual stages, but for the most part this is a very solid route and I think it would take someone a lot of work to topple the (upcoming ) no-miss score.

Update:

Finally made stage 5. The stage 4 boss feels really brutal. Is there any way to skip straight to a boss for practice?
