Searching for vertical shooter (1945-like?)

Post by moroz1999 »

About 13-15 years ago I've seen an arcade cabinet with a vertical shmup. I don't remember many details though, but I seemed to be similar to Strikers 1945 series.
One clear detail is a scene, where some giant torpedo-like missiles fly from a top towards a main hero. Really huge, not fitting on a screen.
Can anybody help me to remember please, which game could that be?

Could be 19XX. There is a Boss that has two massive missiles, check out the videos on youtube.

Thanks for a clue!
I've watched the video - the game seems similar indeed, but:
1. The missiles/torpedos flied in opposite direction (towards a main hero).
2. They were longer, much longer.

I also remember that they were a part of some level, flying one by one.
I now doubt, whether this game really was similar to 194x series - seems like it was, but I'm not so confident anymore.

These missiles were clearly displayed in attraction mode. There could have been some really green grass and clouds in same level, but I may be mistaken.

Are you sure the player flew a prop plane, at least, and not a jet or space ship or something?

Sonic Wings Limited? Some other Aero Fighters game? Was the monitor mounted vertically or horizontally?
The rear gate is closed down
The way out is cut off

I'm about 65-70% sure, that it was a plane, not a space ship.

Thanks, I'll give them a try!
I'm 80% sure that the display was vertical.

Strikers 1999?

It's obviously like the first two but set in the present rather than pseudo WW2

I was playing Aero Fighters (or the sequel) recently in the arcade and I'm pretty sure there was a stage that matches the description in the OP...

Check out this link http://sonicwings.wikia.com/wiki/Rocket_V3
Or maybe it was in Strikers 1945's Stage 6 where shortly before the boss, you fight 2 rockets at the same time.
