Trouble identifying a Diode in Sega Power base converter

Post by Einzelherz »

This isn't my photo but a nice clear one:

In trying to replace the caps on my power base converter (it would constantly reset or not run games at all) I may have damaged it further. I tried checking the zener diode on the left in the above image (between the cap and resistor to the left of the IC) and I'm getting .29v both ways, which suggests it's blown.

The problem is that mine doesn't have any code printed on it, or any bands, and I'm struggling to find out its rating so I can replace it. Does anyone know off hand or have a working PBC they can check it in? I won't admit to knowing what I'm doing, exactly, but I'm learning :)

Thanks in advance.

Ok so I retested the diode once it was off the PCB and it checks out fine. So now I'm paranoid that I killed the IC but have absolutely no way of verifying that.

Drat.
