So I'm going to be traveling down the coast later this month (between Monterey and LA) and was wondering if any shmupforum folks along the central coast would like to meet up. SLO, Santa Barbara, anyone from around there?
I've also got my ears up for any good pinball or arcade spots along the way, but a preliminary google search hasn't brought up much--no surprise there of course.

Let me know when you get to LA.

Re: california coast trip
definitely check out eighty two in LA, the new barcade that opened up. the pinball selection is great with only 50 cents for the premium titles.
yes, lemme know when you get into LA (maybe you can head a little bit down to Long Beach? I'm in a different house with it's own garcade).
cheers,

Cool, that barcade sounds promising. I'll hit you guys up when I'm in LA, though I'm only staying for 3 or 4 days there, so hopefully I'm don't get too booked up with family stuff.
Sounds like there's no central coast shmuppers around though? Too bad, hehe. Looks like it's going to be a Ketsui DS kind of trip...

Lol, well fuck that central coast road trip then and just take a plane down to socal. Frentic and I will host the High Scores and Heat festival (he'll provide the skill, I'll provide the booze!)blackoak wrote: Sounds like there's no central coast shmuppers around though? We're still over in the central valley, could make a small trip to meet up with you somewhere, grab a drink or something. Or, if you end up through the valley you are welcome to swing by.
Re: california coast trip
I lived in Santa Barbara for 4 years and I couldn't find much in terms of arcades. The best I found was a RFJet cab in a Goleta movie theater. It's a beautiful city though. Downtown SB is really nice and it's a great place to spend some time at the beach. SLO seems to be not much more than a college town. There are some nice wineries in Santa Ynez just north of SB where the movie Sideways was filmed. For arcade action though, you're probably best off to book it down to LA as CMoon suggested.
Re: california coast trip
Chilling in Pismo beach atm. Spent two days in SLO this weekend, and it was predictably boring. In case it wasn't obvious from my first post, btw, I've been walking the whole way. Camping mostly, with the occasional motel stay to clean up/rest. Mentioned the trip to CMoon a few months back but I finally got started at the beginning of may. Doing 15-20 miles a day, nothing too crazy.
Btw, it turns out I'll be hitting Santa Barbara this Saturday, but everything is booked up cause of the holiday weekend. If anyone knows someone in SB with a couch or room I could crash at Saturday night, lmk. Long shot but I figured I'd ask hehe.
