I see what you did there.

But seriously, that whole scene is great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qalwC0Or4rE

haha I actually didn't do that consciously :p

another thing I really like in HnK is how they do this thing every few episodes where the start of one episode is a remake, slightly different take on the end of the episode before, often with completely different art, it gives a kinda DYRL? style different angle on the stories.

Ha, Ken’s a total hypocrite. I guarantee Souther isn't the only one forcing children into slave labor. Kenshiro hulks out of his shirts that often, you just know he’s got a factory full of kids pumping out them denim shirts like a mofo somewhere in the desert wasteland.

we recently finished all 152 episodes, the raoh spin-off series, the movie, the 5 OVAs, the DD 2013 parody series, and just about to start fist of the blue sky

when you've seen up to ep89 i would recommend DD Hokuto No Ken 2013. very light-hearted comedy, but i think it's very enjoyable for fans of the series. we made the mistake of watching it before we'd finished hnk1 so didn't catch all the references

would anyone recommend Full Metal Panic anime?
A friend gave me what I think is the first two seasons and I'm wondering if I should give em a watch or just flip them for a few measly bucks.

After years of absolutely shitty fillers, something is actually happening in the manga Claymore (ch.149)

I'll watch it and get back to you with a full five-page long essay with sources properly cited and a 3-year plan of recommended action.

I'm not asking you to go that far. Three pages with citations will be sufficient enough.

I have watched the first episode - and I really liked the mecha design (yep thats enough for me sometimes), so I am no doubt gonna watch it fully soon.

Oh god. Doraemon's getting censored.

And I don't mean like nudity or a scene where the time-traveling robot cat pulls out a knife and cuts a man in half, no (Doraemon is not Madoka Magica). They're censoring the existence of asian people.

(I sat here for like ten minutes trying to think of a response)

If I were the creator I would either cancel the deal or take legal action or something because this is just criminal.

I'll give this abomination about three or so episodes before it's pulled because people throw an uproar. (probably wishful thinking :( )

And here i thought the influence of 4Kids had ended! It's the early 00's all over again.

While I think they should at least make it teach kids Japanese culture and not dumb it down so much (come on, guys, kids should know what chopsticks are for), the show is and always has been a preschooler geared series even in Japan and it's not really much use to get mad about the edits...also keep in mind these were chosen by or at least run by and approved of by the Japanese production company (ShoPro)

Its America. You have to expect this kind of crap by now people! I mean, come on, even on the releases that claim creator or director commentary, anymore its just the english dubbing cast. Still a shame that they are making all the changes to the anime, but the days of giving you just a simple dub probably have been long gone. Still at least I finally found a copy once again of Akira. Glad to finally have that movie. Blu-ray release does include all the extras released on the various home releases over the years, right?

Still better than what they did to Doraemon in France

I'm reading Takemitsu Zamurai and rewatching Mushishi, both are awesome.
Gundam Unicorn 7 is coming out this weekend!

yes I cannot wait - I'm, hoping it'll be on PSN or XBL right away - it was pretty much out the same day on them last time from what I remember.

Taiyo Matsumoto's Takemitsu Zamurai is a piece of art, one of the best manga I've read in my life. Read it! (yes, I'm talking to you Skykid)

Gundam UC 7 hasn't been subbed yet, fuck!

I hope shota Char gets a decent VA. I'm gonna hate Origin forever if he has a shitty voice.

it has been subbed KAI, it's on some PSN networks, unfortunately on XBL all I could get was the dub, which kinda put me off a bit, I wasn't too into the newtype hippie magic ending to be honest, though I accept it could never be much of an 'exciting' ending being nestled between established canon.
