I'm playing Blade Buster in Nester DC 7.1 on the Dreamcast .

Grr! I'm doing so much worse at this game today than I was yesterday. Can't even beat the last boss. Yesterday I 1LC'd. It's not just the DC, either, b/c I was doing poorly playing in fceux earlier today.

I am really enjoying Espgaluda 2 on the iPad. I am waiting for Radiant Silvergun to grow on me but so far I find it a bit distancing and austere. Both very different shooters of course.

Picked up Raiden Legacy yesterday (iOS again) and that's been a rude awakening after playing a bunch of shmups lately with the smaller hitboxes.

I've gone back to this,it's awesome isn't it? Great soundtrack as well.It's really easy until the TLB...I nearly cleared it last night,I beat my previous score and no missed up to the final boss...but didn't pull off the clear,I could of exploded!

Pretty far from it aha, more like bullet hell with fighting game commands.
Like the full game, you only get one life and have a shield to compensate, hard to explain briefly so this vid would probably give you a better idea of how it plays

Now this looks like an interesting game. Don't know of much shmups with fg commands.

I think one of the Cotton games has this. Cotton Boomerang, maybe?

playing some rRootage. I 1 or 2 missed 4R and got a new high score, which is pretty cool. Then I played 5R and lost all of my lives right away but managed to hold out till the end. was playing 5R to the tune of Thunder Force III "Hunger Made them Desperate," which gets you pumped pretty well like most TFIII tunes.

Scratching the surface of Futari 1.5. Definitely going to spend a couple of months to get this game nailed on Original and Maniac.

Played a bit of DFK at Arcade Street in Paris. First time I'm seeing the second loop with bomb style heh.

Currently playing the GameCube Star Soldier (with an autofire pad), and it is a cool game. However, the way the shield works is a bit weird. Basically, once you reach maximum firepower you can sustain three bullet hits, but each time, your firepower decreases a level, and you will only be able to upgrade again once the shield is completely down. Picking a power up while the shield is still active will trigger the usual explosion. But when your shield is down, the next power-up fully upgrades you. So you sometimes have to eat bullets on purpose just to destroy the shield and pick up a power up.

It has cool tracks (This one 's my favorite) and the caravan modes are challenging even for "survival". The main game has 10 stages, which is a lot, but they do not overstay their welcome. Furthermore, the whole main game has plenty of scoring tricks and secret bonuses, just like in the caravan modes.

Putting down SDOJ for Ketsui right now (hit a pretty hard wall at stage 4). Ketsui seems nearly as hard as SDOJ, with all of the swirly, unpredictable bullet patterns. Also, the ships feel underpowered. Nonetheless, I'm going to give it a shot. Super fun game.

Decided to try Ketsui again after watching the live stream from Stunfest and suddenly I find myself really enjoying a CAVE game. It's like a whole new world of shmups have opened up to me.

Is there any super easy quick kill strategy with the stage 4 boss like with earlier bosses, does anyone know? This shit is impossible. Not to mention I can't even make it to the boss unscathed. This game hates me.

I've always wondered this. Very few systems are as easy to tate.

Probably because it was a portable and pretty much died the instant the GBA came out in Japan

Gotta say though, it's one sexy handheld.
