I didn't mean I will deny Crimzon Clover, since I do have a Steam account after all
however, not in a million years I will favor digital form over physical media

Re: Game Announcement at Stunfest coming up in 6 hours
Some details about the coming Crimson Clover steam release gleaned from the Stunfest show floor today, having spoken some of those partly involved in this version of Crimson Clover. Very little detail, but something...
It's likely to be released very soon indeed.
• There's an extra new mode along with arcade, likely targeted at for novice players.
• There'll also be a training mode, quite possible to introduce the systems.
• Of course, there's leaderboards, achievements etc.
• It will be available in seven languages - English and a spread of mainland European languages.
And that's it. It's not 100 per cent clear if it's an exact port of the NESiCA version, or a slightly tweaked version... it may be a 1.01 type of affair.
Having seen Icarus play the game on stage at Stunfest, I'm very excited to play this. Until now it's not been so successful, so regardless of opinions on Steam, physical vs digital, etc. it seems to me like a great way to get more people playing Crimson Clover. Props to Cliver-TAC for putting the effort into a new release, I say.

i hope the nesica version has considerably improved movement, dodging in the doujin version was annoying as hell for some reason

It needs better hitboxes or at least a better hitbox display.

That's not 100% 'news', -S.L- mentioned this port over two weeks ago: http://www.shmup.com/?id=807
A number of people like Erhune were mentioning it as well last month, I suspect they got some input though.
Of course the details weren't known at the time.

I heard today that the Steam release was teased with hints back at the PAX expo, but us mob clearly didn't pick up on the hints!Xyga wrote:That's not 100% 'news', -S.L- mentioned this port over two weeks ago: http://www.shmup.com/?id=807

Am I the only one who's not hyped?
I'm very disappointed by this. I was expecting a proper retail title not a doujin game.
It's also compounded by the fact that SOF-WTN's run after this was very disappointing too.
I guess I had too high expectations after that monster SPS run.

it was completely remade for arcades, hard to even call it doujin anymorespl wrote:Am I the only one who's not hyped?

Re: Game Announcement at Stunfest coming up in 6 hours
Trust me, the nessica version of CC doesn't come off as a doujin game. It's more like a remake and gives DDP a run for it's money both visually and gameplay wise. I prefer it to SDOJ actually.
Re: Game Announcement at Stunfest coming up in 6 hours
I'd be willing to give it a shot if it came on a platform I could play it on. I don't have a Windows PC so it's out of the question unfortunately. Can't understand why this is not X360.

Re: Game Announcement at Stunfest coming up in 6 hours
It could still happen in Japan though. This was highlighting the Western release at a Western event, but I wouldn't be surprised if things got handled differently here, because as Rancor mentioned, no one knows wtf Steam is here.
Re: Game Announcement at Stunfest coming up in 6 hours
I'll be enjoying myself some Crimzon Cover AC PC version. (At least, once my current machine gets replaced or has the overheating problem fixed.)
I could see the appeal in physical releases, but a digital-only release is better than no release whatsoever.

Re: Game Announcement at Stunfest coming up in 6 hours
And just to clarify.. this isn't even a new game is it? It's just the old game ported with maybe some minor extra bits and pieces added right?
I could've gotten sorta hyped if it was Crimzon Clover 2.. but a rehash..

Think of it as Crimson Clover 1.5.

Did the video of the announcement not get archived? I looked on Dailymotion and couldn't find it.

Who's the publisher for this release, TAITO?

Good for Yotsubane, a Steam release is infinitely better than a X360 one. He definitely knows where the money is, unlike some dinosaurs that frequent this forum...

Didn't Treasure handle the Nesica port? I'd be unsurprised if they were doing this since they already got Ikaruga on Steam.emphatic wrote:Who's the publisher for this release, TAITO?

The Nesica version was published by Adventure Planning Service, a company mainly known for designing board games and pen-and-paper RPGs. They also handled the Nesica release of Trouble Witches, and had a hand in the 360 XBLA version published by SNK Playmore.

Title should be changed to "Crimson Clover AC coming to Steam." Why confuse people?

The company is Bouken, Adventure Planning Service is the slogan.

Other way around. It reads "Copyright (C) Adventure Planning Service.1987-2013. All Rights Reserved" at the bottom of their homepage.KAI wrote:The company is Bouken, Adventure Planning Service is their slogan.

Re: Crimson Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
Also note the title: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition, as well as the big announcement being made at Stunfest, which is a European event. It seems like one of the goals of this release is to get CCfNxL out to the Western playerbase, as NESiCAxLive does not exist outside of Japan, hence the Steam release. Yotsubane is well aware of his Western fans and this is not the first time he's publicly acknowledged and thanked them (he also shared nZero's EN translation of the original CC's manual).
