Yeah, it doesn't loop. It just restarts with a pause of silence. Kind of sloppy.

Heh heh. May not be as devastating if I hadn't brushed up on the game a few months ago ^.^ Was going for a Fairy 2-all in arcade mode at the time.

Nice job though, and I find the Fairy a little too fast for my taste. I mainly use the Raiden Mk-II because I find the higher damage useful and the slow speed is something I'm used to back from Raiden II/DX

Lack of a panic bomb is a crazy disadvantage, IMO. Panic bombs save my ass quite often.

For people who have played all versions or at least console versions, any major differences among arcade modes?? Slowdowns etc??
I'm looking forward to this in the european store if we get it at 15€ max.
Also any statement from Moss as wether the overkill mode will be available for the 360 version or something??
Aquas wrote:I left a note on UFO's Facebook page about it... to be honest, stick isn't necessary to enjoy the game, but it's just a little bit of a bummer when you go to use stick and it doesn't work. Anyway, I'll be playing the game a bit now. What stick are you using, Pretas?
I use a HRAP V3 SA Kai.
Between the controller issues and music loop bug, it seems that MOSS has indeed encountered many difficulties in porting their games to PS3, due to their lack of experience with the hardware. The game will definitely need to be patched, and this all but confirms that Caladrius Blaze's delay was due to quality concerns.

They've hinted at the possibility. It may depend on how well OverKill sells on PS3.

In stage 4 there is a section with a ton of big statues that you end up destroying all of. When you first encounter them (where the chasm is and scrolling stops) do not destroy the left most one. Also, wait for them to light up their red crystals. Destroy all of the heads and eventually when you come around to the one you didn't destroy in the beginning, it will give you a 1up when destroyed. This is a bomb in the 2nd loop.
In stage 3 there is a section where red tanks pop in and out of little buildings. Destroy every red tank before it escapes back into its cubby (as some will) and you'll get a bomb. This is a 1up in the 2nd loop.

Not really it's pretty faithful.

thx bro, also maybe im blind but i think i got one in stage 3 also or maybe im seeing things since i was doing easy diffculty lol.
Man, having a blast playing Overkill mode in this. Such a seemingly simple addition adds a whole lot to this game imo.
And I'm coming for that score Aquas did manage that (at time of this posting) #4 score after about 30-45 minutes (lots and lots of first stage restarts lol)
Great game imo, just hope they can patch it up for those having issues.
Some people have been speculating that the last-minute delay for the Japanese version was made to fix the controller and sound issues players have been experiencing, and UFO decided to prematurely release a version known to have major bugs without asking for MOSS' approval. If this is indeed true, and it's hurting the game's sales and MOSS' reputation in the US, I'd imagine they might decide to end their partnership with UFO and attempt to find a more competent publisher.
Considering the extent to which UFO has already botched some of their previous localizations, most notably Elminage, it wouldn't be too surprising. For instance, UFO's PS2 release of Raiden III didn't have the confirm and cancel buttons switched around to the Western standard, creating confusion.
If you satisfy all 20 rescued fairies and 1000 meteors destroyed in the mission stages you can earn an extra 1up in each mission along with some extra bombs. Not bad. This makes 3 extra lives per loop compared to the 1 of before. This might actually make clearing the game a bit easier if you can succeed in the mission stages, I'd say. Perhaps this is Moss' incentive for players to aim for the clear. The 2nd loop bullets seem faster compared to "Additional Modes" aka XBOX 360 mode's loop, though.

They don't have bosses. They are short stages that each have their own mission objective. One is to rescue fairies by destroying these certain boats over water. And the other is to destroy 1000 meteors, and there are meteor dispensers through-out the stage. You're rewarded bombs and a potential 1up for each mission for satisfying completely.

The 1cc achievements on the 360 also required a 2-All, so yes it still probably does. The Double Play 1cc only requires 1-All though.
Also, the difficulty achievements didn't stack, so I doubt the trophies will either. But I don't even know what the difficulties did except for increase bullet speed.
So the 2 extra stages are just bonus stages to spamm a few lifes???
What's going on these days, I was hoping for 2 new stages with new bosses. Oh Moss how you.....
^Caladrius AC was the same case, sad to hear Raiden got the same treatment. I guess we probably shouldn't expect any legitimately new stages in Blaze either then...
Today I downloaded RIV (though, get my copy of 360 version soon )
and sadly my PS2 Saturn Controller (which works fine with other PS3 Shmups like Ketsui...)
don`t work with this Game. On Title Screen I can press Start Button,in Menu-Screen can choose different types of options with d-pad but X-Button to activate or O-Button to leave don`t work
It´s not a blast to play shmups with PS3 Controller, hope there is a patch soon...
I installed the patch, but my madcatz Tekken Hybrid stick is still the same. No buttons worked except for start, and the stick when it's on left analog mode.
Ugggh this update did more dmg than good for me. Used a MadCatz TE stick and hori fighting 3 pad for the whole of last week perfectly fine til this patch. Only the stick works now and not my buttons. Hori pad same thing, d-pad still works, all face buttons stopped registering :/
