There should have been something big in it for you if you won. If you have to fork out quite a bit of cash should you lose, then she should have had to fork out quite a bit of something should she lose. Whether it's letting you spend that same amount of money on whatever you wanted, her giving you your biggest sexual fantasy you've ever had about her, or whatever, it should rival what you'd have to fork over. That there doesn't appear to be such an arrangement, seems pretty unfairly lopsided. And no, "not spending money on cigarettes anymore" doesn't count, and neither does the "not dying sooner in the future" argument. If she could get something to enjoy now, you should get a shot at the some kind of deal.

Right now, it's not so much a bet, as it is a threat.

I'm currently trying to quit with e-cigs myself. Slowly phasing them in - right now, e-cigs at work, the real thing at home. I love to smoke, even wanted to smoke before I ever tried one (I'm guessing oral fixation is a factor here). But I have chronic migraines on a hair trigger, and I've managed to quit just about everything else that contributes to pain (wine, caffeine, chocolate, artificial sugar, &c.). Cigarettes are the last contributing factor that I can really control.

Then again, they wanted me to quit eating processed meats and aged cheese.. which isn't really possible for an Italian. Life isn't worth living w/o prosciutto and provalone.

Anyway, doing well so far. Worth a go.

doing the same thing. smoking only 1 a day now. may be about 2-3 when i am drinking out with friends. thinking of upgrading the low end starter kit i have, to a mini protank 2 with ego c twist battery. lets see how it goes.

The SafeCig and V2 brands (respectively) make me cough more than actual cigarettes. My method is to count the number of puffs on a real cigarette (around 20) and do the same with an e-cig. But 20 puffs with an e-cig makes my lungs feel flat-out inflamed. I don't know whether it's the delivery system or just the brand.

I quit cold turkey about 15 years ago. The first two weeks are tough, then (for me) it was easy. It's way harder to kick sugar IMHO.

get a kanger protank mini 2/3 with a ego c twist battery 1000 mah with variable volts, you will need a charger for the battery as well. and proper juice, like dekang or hansen. the coughing results when the juice is bad or if it doesnt vaporize properly.

Starter kits are generally not that good but if you had to go for one, go for something like this. and look for reviews on youtube, some of them are really helpful.

^ great e-cig setup, go for the Kanger tank with twist battery for best results. Than you can adjust the voltage and see if you like warm or cool vape. E-cigs are kinda DIY though and annoy me at times when things don't work when they should but with the right setup you really can zap your cravings fast. You save in the long run with a set up like too!

On another note my brother was in the same boat, but his wife pleaded for him to give up and sure enough he did it the only reason he told me he did it was because of her and the fact she kept him away from his fellow smoking friends.

I think quitting has alot to do with who you are surrounded by and your lifestyle

The only other options is to remember that you're not a pussy. I quit a pack and a half a day habit, in Japan, while frequenting arcades and bars. So yeah, anyone can quit.
