Hey guys,
Up front, sorry for the amateur-hour questions......
I'm considering getting a new television, and a thought pop'd in my head regarding how my xrgb-mini will work with the new one.... The mini can output both 720p and 1080p, and I configure it for the display's native resolution. My assumption is, "If the display's processing butches the image & adds lag so badly an expensive mini is required, why would I output an image that requires the display to process the output?"
Will getting a 4k/4k'esque TV significantly change the value of using the mini? Does the mini's hardware allow it to eventually output 4k with an appropriate firmware? If the answer to the previous question is no & the former is yes, what options are available to mitigate the problem?

Re: xrgb-mini new televisions.....
On traditional scalers you try to set the output to display's native resolution, right. BUT on the XRGBs your choice is limited by the processor's absility to display proper scanlines. So, on the XRGB-Mini you choose 720p, if you want nice looking scanlines.
Today's TVs have pretty good upscaling and don't add additional lag to already progressive inputs. Interlaced or SD inputs are a different matter. The Mini won't be able to output 4K and I don't see what you would gain by it. Using the Mini with 720p on a 1080p displays keeps the result from looking too sharp anyway.

usually, at least everbody except you and the socialist fellow in the other threadMaking the assumption that everyone wants a blurry picture with scanlines?
no, there're not.If you don't want scanlines, aren't there better processors to be using anyway?

I'm working on that.
