Probably not a negative development. I expect Kadokawa to take a hands-off approach and generally let them do their own thing, since it's what's enabled all of their successes in the past. (See Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor for an example of what happens when From is instead heavily micromanaged and creatively restricted by a publisher.) It also means their budgets in general will be higher. Perhaps we will see Armored Core 6's inevitable debut on PS4 sooner than expected.

I think this means we've seen the end of the Dark Souls series, since Bandai owns all rights to the IP outside of Japan, and Kadokawa will be publishing all of From's games from now on. They will need yet another different word attached to the "Souls" title. I'm not sure what will happen to Armored Core - while Bandai also controls the series in the West at the moment, I feel they are a lot less attached to it due to its niche status and historically low sales outside Japan. Kadokawa will probably make sure it falls into their hands.

I dream for this, too, but I'd have to say: dream on. Honestly, I wouldn't feel that bad that the Souls series is at an end. 3 amazing and/or classic games. Wishing for more seems greedy. That said, Demon's Souls on PC, please.

They should at least strive to do one more Souls game to match the number of King's Field titles. Not counting the KF Additional games, which are quite awful Wizardry-style dungeon crawlers with grid movement that bear no resemblance to the numbered series.

Considering Bamco has no issues publishing Souls rip-offs, this will without a doubt have nothing but positive effects on From's future projects.
