Regardless I'd love to see you do a Harmful Park ep, speaking as one who forked out for the PS1 version largely after reading your excellent papers on it. ^_~

edit: Whenever you STGW dudes hit a lull, do hit me up again for Metal Black and Senjou no Okami II.

Just in my opinion, the Battle Garegga episode was torpedoed into near-unwatchable territory due the apparent idea that a "mincing gay man" affectation straight out of the 80's was inherently funny all by itself. If there were actual jokes being told, I might be able to agree.

I do agree with this, though. While there's nothing wrong with humor, it's a shame when it starts to actually become distracting.

We'll do another Garegga episode at some point as a lot of people expressed disappointment.

Hmm I never saw the garegga episode so I can't really comment on that. The mushihime episode was good though imo. I'll check out the garegga. There's so much backlog, so much I have to go through. I like it.

Ditto. Whether it's detailed text annotations or live vocal commentary, it's better when the focus is on the game being played. Good commentary I think needs to add to a run, not distract from it.

I'm going to go back on what I said about the comedy and agree with you guys. If I'm being honest, I actually do want the commentary to always be about what's happening on screen. I actually feel that sapz commentary is quite good. Because in certain episodes there would be an insane dodge, or bullet pattern, and I'm thinking, would someone please explain how he just dodged that. One episode that really went deep into the game being played was the dragon blaze one, rng really dug deep into the commendation on that one.

Having said that, I still think there should be some element of humor and lightheartedness. Mushi ultra episode still ranks highly for me.

I really liked Frenetics hype commentary of the overflow bug in SOJ. Informative and hilarious.

I tend to explain things better in writing than in speaking, which is why my ST threads are always so big, and the Special Demonstrations have text annotations.
So apologies both now and in advance, if my commentary in the episodes I'm a part of is of variable quality, heh.

As for the Gus/Medal discussion, the Futari episode was good because the discussion and commentary was interesting, but the Garegga episode is the only one in the entire series I watch with the sound off. Which is doubly disappointing IMO, as Garegga is my favourite STG of all time, and Eaglet's replay is worth watching.

That was Ratikal, not Frenetic.
And on a related note, Ratikal does some good commentary. The Eschatos run is one of my favourites in the series.

Watched Part 1 of the Outzone ep on YouTube. There will be a part 2, right?

Some things I didn't hear mentioned:

* If you play Outzone in 2 player mode, there are spots where one player can be trapped because the other player runs to far up the screen (the lava pits' Energy refill) but the game then activates a ladder across the lava pit!

* The Flying Shark planes are triggered by shooting the bushes in a specific order, not random at all
* The Dash Garou bonuses are triggered by walking a specific path, not random either (might depend on which rom is being played)
* Some rom sets have different sets of enemies (especially the mid sized ones)

Personally, I love the Super Ball, I can't understand why so many people trade it away for the standard weapons. You can shoot through walls with it! And if you use auto fire/tap shot, the ball shoots away

OutZone ep is up on Youtube as a playlist.

Also, props to Softdrink for holding it down as host of the show. But I'm back home now and should be resuming responsibility, though, I'm sure I'll be holding Softdrink at gun point to help host sometimes too...

I agree with you. The Futari episode was my favorite because they stuck to the topic of stg culture; as well as, the game at hand, and it was humorous. As far as the Garegga episode goes, I couldn't listen for more than fifteen minutes. Aquas please consider a Gus Espgaluda II video if he's interested. Also, Maniac and God mode hasn't been covered for Futari. Iconoclast has a fantastic replay that demands to be dissected. Thanks for cranking out great and diverse shows.

Just finished the youtube vid of granprix & sorcer striker, what great games. I know it was said over and over again, but the presentation of the games were really good.

I wonder if the creative team were influenced by Aura Battler Dunbine :?:

Any Tamino fans out there? If not, the many stories of Byston well is worth a watch (and funny) Garzey's Wing

It was a break week obviously. Hopefully we'll have the next episode figured out by Tuesday or Wednesday. Anyway,

We're toying with the idea of an STG Weekly shirt. It would pretty much be the STG Weekly logo on a black shirt, with perhaps the STG Weekly ship on the back. Would you guys be in to something like that? Would you buy one? Just an interest check. If you don't wanna make a post, send a note on Twitter perhaps.

Mahou 1+2 episode was fantastic! Didn't know that there was a no-racing saturn mode.
I'll have to get it now

Would totally buy a white shirt with stg weekly logo/ship on the front in black lettering, nothing on the back, for about 16 dollars shipped.
