When your media player of choice is updated and is now bloatware that hangs HARD if you skip tracks too often.
I used to love TheKMPlayer.

Every time I get linked to TV Tropes, I end up getting side tracked for at least half an hour on the site.

Headphones. In general.
They're made like shit, particularly the wire.
Are there any decent but low cost [this pair is going outside] headphones with detachable cables?

Not sure if its my earphones or my mp3 player, but I keep having to adjust the position of the jack/wire or else only one of the earbuds will work.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Argh, playing pingpong all day between the Healthcare Marketplace (.gov) and my particular insurer.
Night before yesterday, called the insurer up (fourth month running - every month there's a problem) and was told that I had to correct my address, and then have to call them back.
Today, call up the Marketplace, get transferred, 130 minutes waiting and get disconnected due to technical problems on their end.
Call again later (another ~50 minutes total), things seem to check out.
Call the insurer back. They swear on a stack of bibles that there's still a problem.
Call the Marketplace again, get transferred, am making problem and then BOOM! Phone disconnects. Wait for a call back but it never comes.
At least I am starting to zero in on the likely cause of the problem. If I'm lucky they might even have fixed it after the call disconnected. I'll call the insurer again later.
The maddening thing is that the same insurer is providing two plans for me, but under different umbrella names. One of their services is not having the problem the other one is, but hopefully it can be corrected without breaking it for the one plan.
My major problem is rubbing the fabric cable of my Audio Technica headphones (that one, and my current pair) between the floor and the wheels on my chair...I keep telling myself to cover it in some electrical tape but never do. But probably I could just replace it entirely. It's something to think about. Perhaps a detachable cable could be made as a mod?

I broke a previous pair of headphones by accidentally pulling out the wire. However, with some equipment I might repair it one of these days.null1024 wrote:Are there any decent but low cost [this pair is going outside] headphones with detachable cables?

Detachable cable (with a tendency to rub against a shirt's collar though)
Very good sound quality (good lows and mids, but not the best highs)
Noise isolation is minimal (can be good if you want to remain aware of your surroundings while listening though)
Careful if you have ears that stick out a bit or are slightly unevenly shaped they can be a rough fit.
Best suited for electro/rap etc.
Built for war.
About $129, can be found for less sometimes.
If you want better stuff and more suited for rock/metal, you can't go wrong with the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II, even better sound quality, excellent isolation, also built for war and detachable cable of course.
Legendary. But more expensive (about $199).
The Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear are quite good too, not sure if they feature a detachable cable, need to check.

Single-button touch pads. Recent laptops seem to love them.
FUCK THIS SHIT.
Just had an issue where mine wouldn't push down properly. Also, you can't properly hit LMB+RMB. Siiiiigh.
$129 is more in my price range, I'm not going to drop $199 on headphones I'm taking outside.

When I fuck up the toilet paper-to-shit ratio, and have to plunge that shit out. Then, wash the plunger in the shower; then wash the shower out with dishwashing detergent. Kills an otherwise pleasant evening.

What? Okay, I expect this from every other company with a user agreement, but now it's coming from cereal companies? Did they just have a load of cadmium they needed to dump into their cereals real quick?BulletMagnet wrote:Subscribe to a newsletter for some product or other? Guess what? When I tell people that games in my country are way too damn expensive, they have no idea HOW expensive they are. Well I just took this pic:

For comparison, you can buy it new at GameStop for $20.
And then you realize why piracy is so widespread over here.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
According to currency exchange that's about the same price we get them here in UK too. But I'm gonna guess that 40 pounds is much much more in Brazil. I thought companies adjust their prices for the market they plan to sell to.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
The NBA League Pass App user interface drives me nuts. I click on hide scores in the settings so I can watch the archived game without being notified of the score. I want to watch game two between Oklahoma City and Memphis, and at the top of screen it says series tied 1-1.
I know who won the first damn game. Also, in the past they have had the final score appear as a popup at the start of the game.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
If somebody has mentioned it before, my bad. I really hate companies that release dvds and blu-rays and make the sound mix the loudest possible mix it can possibly be and sometimes even louder than you think. Had a rude awaking last night from a dvd I bought this week from Wellgo USA entertainment. I popped out a dvd I was watching and put in one of theirs and it was at least 3 times as loud. What is with this trend? So annoying.
Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
^I hate that too
And also when you can barely hear the voices but the sound effects are ridiculously fucking loud. The Dark Knight was terrible about this. I had to keep adjusting the volume way up to hear any dialogue and then way down to avoid pissing off my neighbors during the action scenes.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
+1
I think those just don't include a proper 2 channels stereo mix, it is just a badly converted 5.1 track or something like that.

No they dont. and along with paying through the nose for the games, I have to pay for shipping, because none of the shops here keep any games worth shit.mastermx wrote:According to currency exchange that's about the same price we get them here in UK too.
