But the compatibility is awful (at the moment). They may work for Mario and Zelda, but most games have severe glitches or don't work at all. Even the official emulator that's used for Wii VC can't play Bomberman64. Until the cycle-perfect project is done I wouldn't even think about using an N64 emulator.

Bomberman on RetroArch's Mupen64 core seems to work fine!

I guess they've made progress in the last years then. Maybe they'll announce the RetroN 7 with N64 and NDS compatibility at E3. Use your smartphone / tablet as the lower screen :D

Dont forget PC Engine support also

Surely they wouldnt announce a new console would they, after just releasing the 5??......that said i guess i would prefer that to having an add-on device for the reton5 i guess.

Did the n64 carts use a similar pin size to snes carts??

The N64 connector is wider. But there's an adapter for the Retrode2, so I guess they could also make it for the RetroN 5. Adapters for the N64 controller should also be possible. The question is if the processor is fast enough. But it would would surely hurt their sales a lot if they plan to announce another RetroN before / shortly after the RetroN 5 comes out.

I'm refering to this quote on gamnesia btw:
Chris Gallizzi wrote:"Yeah, but if you really want an insight I can tell you: check us out at E3, you'll see something there. That is an exclusive, actually; I have not told anyone else, any other media, or any press that. If you really are big about the N64, you will see something at E3."

You know you are completely f****d as a company when you are making April Fools jokes instead of actually doing real work: https://twitter.com/Hyperkin/status/450 ... 48/photo/1

That's pretty harsh for someone who spent like 15 minutes in Photoshop to make that image, don't you think?

Far as I know Mupen hasn't been updated since 2005.

Edit - My bad, it's now Mupen Plus.

The x86 seems like a nice idea, but I fear that they'll butcher the 400p70 (13h) to 1080p60 conversion. Next hardest thing would be to get the audio right. Adlib, SB16, GM, GS support ?

He uses the term 'On boats'.....SERIOUSLY!!......are you friggin kidding me!!!?. On Boats what sort of company uses boat to transport goods in 2014, unless the items are stupidly large. This just underlines what sort of a company Hyperkin is, if there sticking their products on boats to deliver them. Coming form Twain or wherever, it will take more than 30 days to get to UK for instance, try 45+ days Hyperkin at the best!

Doesn't matter, it's actually a mix of various transportation means anyway, not just harbor-to-harbor. It's the same for all companies that have significant volumes of stock to ship, because just by plane is way too expensive.
A 4 to 5 weeks lead time is pretty common for new, fresh-out-of-factory products. ETA for customers naturally improves after wholesalers and suppliers are done stocking the new product.

My day job involves importing products from asia, trust me, this is a common thing. Sea freight is so much more cost effective than air freight, no one in their right mind would ship these things on planes. There's also been alot of port congestion lately too delaying shipments.

Yeah even with my complete and utter disgust for how the company has been handling the release, I can't blame them for using sea. I guess if you want to nitpick, it is still likely to miss an April release.

funstock also recently changed from "Out of stock" to "Pre-Order" so it looks good.

How many of these do you think they intend to sell? 500? 1000? Of course they'd ship on boats.

The best video ever made by any human being.

Spam this video to Hyperkin on Twitter so they can respond by spending the next 15 minutes photoshopping a RetroN 5 into Hitler's hands and do girly laughs while they all pat each other on the backs.
