Just to be clear- is Guwange not on a disc in the box?

Play Asia says it's:

•Guwange for Xbox Live

as opposed to, say,

•Xbox 360 Game: "Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu Black Label"

Guwange is a download code for the XBLA version, yes.

Aw shame, I was hoping it would be a disc to make the collection box more unique. Will be tricky to download the game in the west, and once you do then it's 'missing' from the box if you re-sell...

According to the Google translated text under the image: "The image is an image. There is the case that is different from the real product." Good to know that's it's an image, but it sounds like there might be a different box this time in some way.
According to what? You're just going by a google translation. Pictures translate to all languages. Do you really see them making a brand new box? Of course, I'm just guessing, but so is everybody.

Is there space in the old box for SDOJ? The presence of an (apparent) disclaimer might indicate that the old box is not going to be reused.

You'd also expect them to visually differentiate it from the old one. Because it's a different set.

The text just basically says that the final product may look different than the photo. What that may actually mean (if anything) is anyone's guess, but Cave is going out of their way to tell you not to assume that the picture will necessarily reflect the final packaging. (As mentioned below, it's entirely likely that it's just for legal reasons, but still, we have no way of knowing for sure.)

It's a legal thing, nothing more. You always say "actual item may differ," or something along those lines to cover your ass.

Oh, and a quick question about Guwange. Is there any difference between the US and JP versions of the game? I'm guessing the only real difference is that the JP version doesn't have that awful logo the US version had, but... well, I dunno. That's why I'm asking.

Nope, besides all game modes are the same, there are no differences besides other versions. The only difference if you want to change the language is just by setting the 360's System (Settings) Language from Eng. to JP, and reverse. That's much it, I guess.

There is a cardboard spacer in the original box. Take it out and there's the room you need. And they could just put a sticker on the box indicating that it contains Saidaioujou as well.

What would be the best option as of now: Nin-Nin or Amazon & Tenso?

Shame on them for not including Guwange on Disc. Blue Version is awesome IMO.
Once Live servers go down, there won't be a trace of the game and no way to play it anymore, unless you have a modded 360.

This can't be a surprise at this point. They didn't do a disk release originally, or for the first collection.

FWIW, once live servers are down, not much reason to not mod your 360 except expertise and / or cost, I guess.

It's kind of a janky port. Blue is supported in MAME and FBA, the only thing that would ever possibly be lost is Arrange. But I'm sure someone who cares has a JTAG'd X360 and has already dumped the actual content for the whole thing, so your fear is pretty unfounded.

Indeed, all this "OMG we're gonna lose all our digital content forever" scaremongering from people with plastic box obsessions is laughable.

Guwange Blue in MAME has some kind of weird stuttery issue in the beginning though which the 360 port (or normal Guwange in MAME) doesn't have. I mentioned it before and no one cared - am I seriously the only one who's noticed this?

I've never noticed it, and I never noticed it while Aquas played it.

I thought the whole point of Tenso was you give an online shop that only ships to Japan Tenso's address (in Japan) and Tenso forwards it on to you. Their homepage even specifically recommends amazon.co.jp.

But this is the second time BubbaMc has insisted it won't work with no clarification. I am not sure if they are unaware of how it works or is privvy to something non-obvious.

There was discussion earlier of amazon.co.jp restricting any "household's" purchases to just one. not sure if this is still an issue, but might be why it's in question.

If you're dropping this kind of money, surely you can afford the small price ($10 in the US) to buy the XBLA download in whatever region is most convenient for you. Then you've also kept the code intact if you're concerned about resale.

Site updated with a few extras in the DLC disc.

http://www.cave.co.jp/gameonline/Xbox36 ... ction-kan/

Not too much really I'd rather take the extra ost of the first collection.
Damn they could add Guwange to the disc if they're printing new ones.
