Playing Xbox 360 through Astro City
I have the opportunity to make an offer on a Astro City II cab and if I buy it would love to turn it into a cabinet to play Xbox360 CAVE vertical shooters. Only problem is I have zero knowledge or experience with arcade cabs. I had a look on several forums and the majority of useful threads I found are years old and seem to refer to video conversion hardware that is no longer available to purchase. Is there anyone that can provide me a detailed list of what I actually would need to achieve this task. I would really appreciate any help as I am completely lost and don't really want the buy the cab and then find out that I cannot do what I intended. Thanks.

Send Tim an email and see if he still makes these, seems the simplest way to do it. It will be 480i that you are sending, which is great for 3D games, 2D would look better at 240p. To achieve 240p you would have to get converters like the Super Emotia, UVC (good luck finding one), or a MIMO Genius II. Then you would have to figure out how to wire it up into your cabinet.

If you have a trisync monitor in the cab you could always get something like this and use a scanline generator like the mini-SLG or SLG3000

I own a UVC and it's a real marvel. Some nice ported Cave games are really looking close to a genuine PCB on screen. But you'll need to find one (or a Super Emotia, which I have never personally tested, but is rated as good as the UVC), and get hackpads for controls, and get an audio amplifier for sending managing the sound.

Lemony Vengeance makes a device which will allow you to connect a 360 to an Astro with ease.

I would also like to know more about this device, especially if you say it can connect an Xbox 360 with "ease"
