On a related note, is anyone else having issues with the iOS Game Center high scores for Danmaku Unlimited 2?

For me in both Arcade and Burst mode the first high score I achieved seems to be locked and any subsequent higher scores will not upload to Game Center.

It's hella annoying.

Anyone else finding this, or got a solution?

His Burst Extreme score is 10 trillions within 6.9 hours of gameplay, that's impossible without using TAS.

About scoring system, the most important is you have to keep a parameter called TM. You can see it under the grazed & points counter, the greyed text one. At first stage you'll have 1x, then it will increased each end of stages. This multiplier active only when Trance is used. If you died it will reset back to 1x, if you get hit but not died you'll get lesser TM bonus. So if you no-miss stage 1, you could get TM bonus about 40x to be carried to the next stage, but if you get hit maybe you only get about 10x.
So the easier strategy here is get ADS max to avoid TM reset.

I don't know who this guy is, but it's entirely possible they were a top player at the original version and just banged out a good run in their first day or two of play on the PC.

I'm actually willing to go ahead and say that a score like that is completely possible without prior experience. 7 hours may not seem like much, but it's definitely enough time for someone to figure out what they should be doing.

I installed the demo (1.1.3), and it crashes on "setting up graphics manager"
This is on a shitty netbook with integrated intel GMA graphics card running Windows 7 Starter. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this, I was getting all excited to see if it would run full speed on my computer :(

tried installing it to both Program Files (NTFS) and a separate FAT 32 partition

I haven't gotten a chance to read through all pages of this thread, so I apologize if there was any other discussion of a similar issue

Well, it's alright I guess, at least I didn't buy the game before finding out it wouldn't work. Is there any workaround, though?

Well, I checked his achievements and he even hasn't done the most easier one.

Btw I forgot to mention this. I haven't verify this yet, but each Trance could be worth 10x to be added to TM. So if on a stage you managed to use Trance 3x, and you still have Trance bar 50% filled for the 4th Trance, then TM to be added for the next stage might be 35x.

Hell yeah, I hold the world record for classic extreme.
1,091,170,881,050

The funny thing is, that this score would be like.. multiplied by 10? If I didn't get hit at the beginning of stage 5.
The scoring system is broken.

Basically the more you play it you can 'buy' continues or extra lives, great for beginners or those that just want to credit feed through it.

It's worth playing.

There are no in-game powerups, instead you spend points earned by playing the game on levels in three different types of option (straight, homing, wide), plus extra lives and continues, which you won't need because you default with three lives with UN Squadron-style health bars. You start with... some points to spend and earn more through play. If I were to fault this game any one thing, it's the lack of a proper arcade mode with the RPG bullshit removed. That said, it only takes an hour or so to max out if you're any good, and the REAL RPG element is that no matter what you do you can never max out everything.

So I notice this game has an 'upgrade' system. As a consequence, I'm wondering what I should do to make a 1CC of this game 'legitimate'. Should I leave the upgrade system completely untouched and 1CC with default upgrades, or is it expected that you'll max everything out and that's just how you 1CC this game?

Burst mode:
Okay so, I really don't like that my beam/bomb comes out when all i want to do is use focus movement -_-
or worse, moving slower means you stop shooting entirely.

I'm struggling to understand exactly what trance mode is also, can i use it as a survival tool or is it for scoring only? Also there've been times I get hit a frame or two before hitting trance, so i take a hit THEN wipe the screen from shots and waste the trance in the process :x

I know trying new things is cool n' all that but what was wrong with bombs.. =/

HI all.

any of you met this problem? If I choose full screen, I see 70% of the game area, the image is like zoomed in. No matter if I set it at 1920x1080, down to 800x600.

Asking on steam forums is probably a better option mate.
People are always discussing such issues there and you're more likely to get a response. I have the game and don't know what could cause that =/

I've come back to this lately for some reason

Trying to get that 1cc on hard. TLB comes out and reks me every time, but granted I don't make it there unscathed.
So my problem with the game is the choice of upgrades. Oh my god, I don't want a choice FFS. just give me that good shit that lets me play the game instead of having to worry about whether i made the right choice and be distracted the whole time!

Okay so, someone please tell me the best loadout the beat the game on hard? I don't care about scoring at all.

also pls state some shmup credentials, like if you've beaten this game or another hard one, so I can tell if you know what you're talking about

Edit: Got the clear now. 1 point in laser, the rest just dumped in shields and lives so i can play like a mug and still clear Hard :mrgreen:
