Dude, if you excuse this kind of behavior...it's going to catch on.
That's all I'm saying.

What, paying $30 for a game I would have expected to be $60? I'm down with that.

Re: Why Kojima fails
Well, I'm not going to debate on it anymore.
BUT, I think we can agree that Phantom Pain has the potential to be absolutely amazing. I hope it lives up to it.
The titles is still weird though. I get it...but it's a weird title.

Re: Why Kojima fails
I've spoken with many gamers about GZ. Understand that I love MGS. But what Kojima pulled was akin to DLC imho. Most Shmups can be beaten in an hour by a good player. But they are designed with replaybility in mind. The time it takes to master the mechanics and the game is where you would derive pleasure from the game. Modern games design themselves on story and experience. I'll probably end up getting GZ when it comes bundled with phantom pain.
Gng can be beaten in an hour. Ikaruga can be beaten in 30minutes. but those games inherent difficulty take you many hours to truly master the game. Some people log at least 100hours into Ikaruga to be able to chain properly.
Perhaps Ground Zeroes just lacks the replaybility of arcade style games such as fighting games and shmups. Or perhaps because it has a legacy to live up to. Though it's short, everyone is saying it's still a solid title.
Even space invaders can be competitive thanks to score. And space invaders is a solid game Btw. I can spend hours on it.

Re: Why Kojima fails
I don't see how a short-ish, but entirely unique game is akin to DLC. The main quest is 2 hours. There are a bunch of side quests to extend the length (I've heard no estimates on how long a 100% completion will take; my guess is somewhere in the 6-10 hour area). This seems pretty reasonable to me.

Errr, sorry, I kinda was away from the internet for the last couple days...
Pinkie Pie is this annoying Youtube let's player who does all these indie horror games and has a high pitched voice. He makes me wanna punch him.Skykid wrote:What's a Pinkie Pie, some kind of sex act?

Do you ever breakdance in the pale moon light....?
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Pretty sure he is already aware of both, considering he's used the internet for more than a day.

That, and he's actually the topic-starter for the local Pony thread but let's ignore reality for a moment...trap15 wrote:Pretty sure he is already aware of both, considering he's used the internet for more than a day.
How do you know? Do you watch him use the internet?

No, I'm not being serious, just in case that wasn't clear

Re: Why Kojima fails
The only thing Metal Gear I like is Rising because I like Platinum Game's action titles. And I suppose Snake is k00l in his own merits. 'u`
Even if the stories were good, I still wouldn't care since that's not what I play games for; to watch and read. I just want to get right into blasting, sneaking, solving, jumping, flying and whatever else I do in vidya. Metal Gear SOLID does too much to slow down the process so I pass each time where everyone else jizzes themselves.
Nothing against the man though, just not a fan which is heresy for most.

So, umm, what the hell is going on in MGS5?
Since I don't own (and will NEVER own) A PS3/4/XboxOne/whatever, I'm gonna depend on internet spoilers.
(Although, considering the MGS series really hasn't been good since the PS2 days, maybe its for the best that I can't play the new shit)

Re: Why Kojima fails
Just out of curiosity. Why do you say you will never own any of the above?

Re: Why Kojima fails
Basically it comes down to three things:
1. There's no games I'm interested in.
2. Even if there were, the cost of entry is too high for my current means.
3. Even if that wasn't an issue, I don't wanna deal with issues like DRM and other modern BS.
I could probably also say "besides, I've got so many games I have to play and beat before I move on" but that's never stopped me before.
