Sometimes I love Japanese TV
I just watched Takahashi Meijin, of Hudson button pressing fame, play through (probably) 2 minute mode on the Gamecube version of Star Soldier. His final score was 830,470. How is that? I haven't played the GC version in forever.

I remember seeing on an episode of Insomniac with Dave Attel about Japan having just a straight up porn channel on regular TV. Can you confirm this? If so, color me impressed as well as mildy disturbed.GaijinPunch wrote:That's like going to London the one day a year it doesn't rain and saying you like the weather. So much bad stuff on TV... that would be cool to see though.
Feedback will set you free.

That's exactly why I said, "sometimes."GaijinPunch wrote:That's like going to London the one day a year it doesn't rain and saying you like the weather. So much bad stuff on TV... that would be cool to see though.
It was pretty insane. Doesn't GC Star Soldier have auto-fire? If it does, Takahashi was just totally ignoring it and hitting that button like crazy. I suppose that's how he used to play Star Soldier on the famicom so why change?Ganelon wrote:Was his button mashing insane?

Half-wrong. There's an autofire in Star Soldier GC, but it's less powerful than what you get by smashing the button...biocat wrote:It was pretty insane. Doesn't GC Star Soldier have auto-fire? Yes, the game have tune down the damage a shot deliver if it was fired using the software auto fire. If you use a hardware auto fire on the manual fire button you could deliver insane amount of damage in a short period of time.SFKhoa wrote:Yeah star soldier's main autofire is REALLY weak, the more powerful autofire can be achieved by button mashing it like hell, or by buying a controller with auto-fire.
Many game have tune down the damage a shot fire by in game auto fire, e.g. MD Twin Hawk, Fire Shark.
