Revolution Ace (another Shmup released on Steam!)

Post by Danny »

Revolution Ace, kinda looks like a budget/indie mixture of Aero Fighters and Twinkle Star Sprites. Not tried this out myself but figured at least some of you guys might be interested in it. (Although IMO it's a bit on the expensive side compared to both DU2 and LUFTRAUSERS both released yesterday)

EDIT: Youtube video of trailer below!

Is it on anything besides Steam? Fuck Steam.

Edit: Blegh, doesn't look too good anyway. :?

Of course, that's just an opinion.

This looks like it plays a lot like Raptor in quite a few ways. That is not a good thing, imo.

Checked and there does not seem to be any other alternative on PC. It is however coming to the I-Phone if that is your bag.

Raptor is also free on GoG so at least that game has that going for it. (for the record I found Raptor to be somewhat enjoyable)

I find it pretty horrible and would not take it for free. It just is badly designed in a a lot of ways, imo. Generally the whole health and shield thing only allows the developers to not really care about good level design and create stuff that is not dodgable properly, since, oh well, gots health! Whee!

I agree with you, however, when i 1st played it a good... i dont know, 15 years? ago, i found it quite enjoyable. I would not play it that much today, but back then, when i didnt know much about mame and stuff, i really had a good time with it ... even tho i hated the mouse controls.

It seems to be pretty good for a euro, unless it has slow start syndrome, in which case it's not getting my money.
