A real old style arcade with Shmups?? I live in Glasgow- would be intrigued enough to go and check this out. Unfortunately, most arcades these days are just fruit machine only and of no interest to me what so ever.

Whereabouts is this new arcade?

I remember the good old days the Big Apple amusements in Sauchiehall Street- playing R-Type, R-Type II, Assault, Gradius, Lifeforce, Strike Force and a load of other classic games. Also used to frequent an arcade in 'The Cambridge Arcade' -used to play Sinistar and StarGate there.... oh and of course the arcade in 'The Savoy Centre' -they had Scramble in there- complete with broken joystick, fag burns and a dodgy coin box that kept all your 10p's.

Ah, happy memories.

Glasgow used to be a great place back in the 80's and early 90's for arcades.... all gone now.

This is good news as I haven't seen an arcade centre in Scotland for years. Any more info would be appreciated.

I'm interested too. I visit Glasgow several times a year and it would be great to visit a real shmup-infested arcade instead of coffee shop after coffee shop after coffee shop for a change.

Any update on this? I'd be up for travelling through if there are some shmups / old school games. Think there's only 1 arcade left in Edinburgh and it barely qualifies - mainly slot machines. The only other one was demolished last year

Sounds fantastic, doesn't sound like it will have newer shooters though.
