Re: The quickening, join now!
REDACTED
This wasn't a particularly good run as I haven't played Mushi or any other bullet hell stuff in a good long while, but it was basically a clear. In one of my derp-est moments, with a tiny fraction of health remaining on Aki, I decided to just bomb spam him and get it over with. For some unbelievably stupid reason I thought I could just sit on top of him and point blank Psikyo style while bomb spamming. You cannot. Lesson learned.
On a different note, I fucking love this game, and I have no idea why I have devoted so little time to it. This is quickly becoming my favorite thread on shmups for getting me to play so much good shit from my collection that I never think to make time for (with the occasional hilariously terrible games thrown in for spice).
EDIT:
Fuck it I'll use a credit. No reason to hoard them.
I'll pass on choosing a game obviously, you should probly add to the challenge that you have to clear without using any credits.

Played on whatever the default PSX-version settings are because I forget the arcade settings.
Forgot how damn fun this game is, even in a PSX emu with something like 80ms of input latency.

So, is the only way to force someone to play a game is to 1CC now?

Ordered the game to go windowed but it turned into a ridiculous small window and returning to fullscreen would give me a non-movable window halfway outside the screen. Sometimes I just fucking love my window manager.

This game's a lot of fun except for the nearly invisible dark-blue flashing bullets. I esp. love the 'race' feel, since scoring is so dependent on clearing enemy waves quickly.

Shit score, yes, but it turns out the game isn't quite as brutally hard as I thought if you're not afraid to bomb-spam everything and fuck your score.

Should I reroll if the randomizer gives me something I just played? I got Mushi 1.5 again...

Incredibly bad run, I really don't know how I managed to fuck it up so badly. Wait no yeah I do, I accidentally picked up those fucking useless trailing options during stage 3.

I got Imperishable Night. I felt this was unfair (one of my most-played shmups ever) so I played Lunatic.

Used one credit and one reroll(I didn't spend them by calling a game, right?) because no way in hell I'm touching Titan Warriors again.

I think I would really like this game if the camera wasn't so terrible and it had an autofire option. Bullets being invisible while behind background elements is generally a deal breaker for me in shmups. Is the original 2D version like that? The original version doesn't appear to be playable on the Sega Ages version.

Re: The quickening, join now!
I fell like I shouldn't be doing this because I'm relatively new to shmups, and don't have access to all that many, but I gotta keep this shit going, 'cos it's been highly entertaining to me to read >_>
Also, this was a terrible score b/c I haven't played this game in a while or much at all, and it's hard as steel
