Radirgy de Gojaru!
Re: Radirgy de Gojaru!
Yep, it's too bad too, because if they had say, put each of the four attacks on its own face button, put the sword on R and ABS on L the game would be immensely improved. The way it is it's too difficult to make use of every weapon effectively to maximize your score.

Damnit Klon.

Of course, that's just an opinion.

Re: Radirgy de Gojaru!
That looks like a very strange control scheme and I have no idea why they went with something like that. It is still better than being forced to use the touchscreen to switch weapons a la Nanostray but ACSeraph's solution is a no-brainer.glitch wrote:you have 4 attack types (3 shot patterns with regular sword plus one weak shot pattern with strong sword). selection is done on the touch screen, or by cycling through them with the Y button. both are inconvenient. (if you wanna switch to strong sword quickly to clean up a stray bullet, you either need to mentally compute the right number of Y presses or use the touch screen button, hence my comment...)

Re: Radirgy de Gojaru!
Sorry for the double-post, but there seems to be a scoring contest organized for this game, as a new page opened up on the official website.
http://klon.co.jp/product/RadirgyDGJL/score.htm
It would take place from March 10th to the end of the month.

超アナログ! lol. guess they didn't really think this through during development. ^^;
somehow that whole site is in a colloquial type of japanese that i don't think i've ever heard anyone under 70 speak.
is it wrong if you enjoy a company's good vibes too much to down-rate their shoddy eshop game?

Every time this thread shows up I smile a little. Simply because I see the title and think Radirgy de Gojira!
That would make a much more awesome game.

Re: Radirgy de Gojaru!
Here's a lenghty videoreview, pretty scathing. Seriously, what were Klon thinking?

I'm not sure where you're seeing the creativity of a poorly appropriated meme as an advertisement. You are being sarcastic, right?KAI wrote:At least they have creativity.

NO.
Awful review.
"I don't like techno=music is bad"
"Radirgy NOAH was better than the original"
"Karous looks bad"
"Radirgy de Gojaru, a score attack game, it's nothing more than a score attack game"
"Don't buy these games"
Thank god this guy doesn't have too many subcriptors.

Re: Radirgy de Gojaru!
Yep, crap review, but the game still fails in the face of serious shmup player criticism, if only because the control scheme ruins a concept that actually had a ton of potential.
I've already kind of moved on from Gojaru, and I doubt I would have if there had been just a couple very minor changes. It's just... unfortunate. Always makes me sad to see a good game ruined by small, foolish, easily fixable design flaws. But hell would freeze over before they patched in better control options.
