This is the hardest grind I've done but it was surprisingly a blast almost the whole way through; the short run length means that you'll be reaching milestones on a constant basis and can keep pushing forward with a new objective for each day, it only starts to get tiring upon reaching the point where the only goal left is the clear itself. That tends to be common with big grinds like this but I was really starting to feel all the little annoyances with the mode start to pile up, especially with the random junk that can go wrong in the TLB--getting bad variations on multiple of its patterns, movement RNG screwing over your attempts to do the misdirect strat in the final phase, I saw a bullet spawn directly on top of my hitbox in one run, etc. It was incredibly rewarding to finally finish and I don't regret for it a moment, but I am glad it's over with lol.
Original and Maniac are fun but Mushi has never been one of my favorite CAVE games otherwise, so I was surprised at how quickly Ultra managed to skyrocket it to being one of the best shmups they've ever done in my book. I don't see myself returning to this game any time soon (maybe I'll explore more of the modes in 1.5 at some point), but I'm glad to have spent the time with it that I did.
