I have started to compile a list of the highest scoring replays available for every title, including different ship types and modes. I thought it could be helpful to others, so I will post it here. Naturally, this kind of project will always stay WIP and its progress will also highly depend on the contributions, suggestions and corrections posted here by other members. If you know of any better replay than the ones listed here, please tell me so I can include it.

-Listed first by developer and then by game title in alphabetical order.
-I will strictly only list one replay. Exceptions are being made when only incomplete replays are available.
-Only arcade games first. No console specific games/modes. Once the list has grown, we can proceed.
-If for one character/category only really bad replays exist, I won't list any. Replays have to fulfill at least certain criteria.
-No TAS or save stated runs allowed.

The list can hardly be called solely my own effort anymore. I want to express my particular gratitude to Perikles and Shepardus. Without them, the list wouldn't even be half as big as it is now. Keep up the good work guys!

Special thanks to Nifty who was quick enough to download some replays that would've almost been gone forever otherwise.

Ooh I had no idea there was such a high-scoring Space Bomber replay floating around, thanks for that!

I don't think I can contribute anything to the Psikyo and CAVE lists, but I've got some saved for other games that I can dig out later.

Edit: Here's an X-36 replay for Strikers 1999 scoring 3,401,100: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLifPq7gB6c

ACR has a Sonia replay for Dragon Blaze scoring 3,327,000 - it's featured on the STG Weekly episode for the game, but I also have it saved on my computer and I'll upload it shortly. I haven't seen any high-scoring Rob replays but there is a survival-focused 2-ALL here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJ6cJ-PkjAA

Thanks, added both! :D

Looking forward to your other links later! That's how I have imagined this topic.

MOD EDIT - to give Plasmo an overflow post, I've quoted Shepardus's first post in the thread and deleted the original post. Plasmo, use this post as overflow once you hit the character limit for the OP. - ICR

Strikers 1999 X-36 3,414,200 - This one is done on an emulator, not sure if it's 100% legit or not. Also there are 8 parts (and only video of loop 2), this is the final part:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHOPd81jLcA

Edit: looks like you already have some higher runs for this, nvm.

Also, as for Strikers 1945 Plus I know my score isn't really that good but I have yet to see a replay higher than it, and as far as I know there aren't any other legit runs on youtube. There's a few runs on Nico that are around the same score but I'm pretty sure they are all slightly less than mine. I've heard a VHS superplay of this game exists with a MUCH higher score (2.7 or 2.8M) but I've never seen it, and can't find a video of it.

Anyway, if you want to add it here it is (it was done on an emulator it that makes a difference):
Strikers 1945 Plus - Pancake - 2,274,700

I uploaded ACR's Sonia replay: https://youtu.be/AzpRVddk8io
I believe it's done on the PS2 port of the game but I don't know of any significant differences from the PCB.
Click here to download the original video files I downloaded from Archer's website before the video hosting went down.

Here's some others:

For Vic Viper, I actually have a run of my own scoring 999,800 that I could upload if there's interest in it. I haven't found anything even close to a 2-ALL though, so maybe it doesn't deserve a row here.

The Grimlen replay is on Dimahoo rather than Great Mahou Daisakusen. It's been said that Dimahoo has easier rank than Great Mahou Daisakusen but I don't know if that's true or how great the difference is.

Thanks very much Shepardus! But please keep in mind that I have all replays collected already. I just need to put them in the thread. I am aware of all the replays you have mentioned. Don't do that extra work.

Let's only discuss the titles first that are appearing in the main post.

Alright, then for Pink Sweets there's a 11,932,230 1CC with Kasumi here and a Meidi+Midi replay by the same player here.

Ok, I went over Nico video and did some more digging for Strikers 1945 Plus, there are 2 other pancake runs but both with lower scores than mine (2,266,700 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm15036165 & 2,170,500 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm19332103).

I did find a 2-ALL from another player using the Zero though.
Player: RS.
Zero - 2,171,400

Part 1 - http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm25491211
Part 2 - http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm25491536

I would love to track down the VHS superplay and get it digitized but that almost seems impossible at this point unless someone has a copy around here.

There's actually a higher-scoring R-Type replay available than saucykobold's, should be the WR if I'm not mistaken:

I'll dig out other videos for classic games later, just two remarks:

- Thanks a lot for doing this! This will without a modicum of doubt turn out to be a tremendously useful thread.

- Could we please do it like our Hall of Records thread as far as the organization is concerned? I understand that the majority of people is mostly interested in Cave, Psikyo and Raizing, but tossing the rest together in the melting pot that is "others" seems a bit cruel. Would be grand to have separate categories for all the developers, makes browsing a lot easier, too.

Exactly my thought! Please consider the present state as tentative. The desired structure is exactly as you have described it. Just give me some days.

I really appreciate the correct format! Thanks, added!

First post looks a bit cleaner now. I will change everything to alphabetical order over time. Still a bit of a mess.

Higher Darius Gaiden Z' score:

I'm not sure who the player is, I think it's in the video description but I can't read it.

Also, I think you've shifted around some of the names for the Parodius Da! replays unless you know something about the player aliases I don't.

A few additions, more to come later. Bolded developers were not mentioned so far, those in a normal font are for your convenience. Edit: some more, Macias also got a higher Rapid Hero score than trap15.

Sooner than expected, I have added all the titles I had on my list. From now on the topic is open for additions of any new games!

@Perikles
Thanks for the very fine selection of replays! All added!

@Shepardus
The player names for the Parodius' replays are in the video descriptions.

Wow, that's a much better upload of the Bolt/Nail run, the one I had was like in stop-motion during the second half of 2-3 to Volvox. Will download that later, thanks for that!

Couple of the top of my head from Nico:

Viper Phase I
16.25M - http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm26103738

Strania - The Stella Machina
Side Strania
Normal - 15.95M - http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm18982006
Hard - 16.84M - http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm28383797
Side Vower
Hard - 18.47M - http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm22802773
Extreme - 18.62M - http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm16657239

Should we make a separate list for TAS replays that are still humanly doable and show the routes?
Thinking of the Donpachi counterstop for example.

EDIT:

Gradius
10.000.000+α - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49f066DhuAU

Tatsujin Ou
91M+ - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvbyHaGmY04

Gradius III AC
4.11M - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wl2JAZO8GY0

Cotton Boomerang

One question: how do we want to handle games with infinite loops? I'd argue that we keep the time-proven tradition to pick a suitable replay that shows how to get 10m, everything above that is moreso a bonus. As an example: saucykobold has uploaded a 3-ALL of the first Raiden which scored slightly less than 13m points. CAT JAPAN on the other hand released some loop 9 Raiden footage that ends with over 64m, which is obviously a lot higher. However, for all practical purposes, saucykobold's video is a lot more instructive since it shows all three loops in their entirety and likewise ends over the vaunted 10m threshold. How do you guys think about that?

In the meantime, a few other games. Will have to check for some more instances just which run scored the most points, especially for all the Konami goodness.

Thank you very much! All added!

However, the player AZK-BAC is famously known for his fake scores. Therefore, I don't want to include him here and did not add the scores for Koutetsu Yousai Strahl and Heavy Unit. I cannot check every single replay myself, so please be sure you guys submit legit replays.

I would suggest the same. For games for which e.g. 10 million points was (admittedly rather artificially) set as the limit for the tracking of highscores, I will not prefer any significantly higher scores over others. On the contrary, I would try to search the replay that gets the set score the soonest. This forces the player to score more efficiently throughout the game. But this just as a tendency. I don't want to strictly pursue this. Scores that break the respective threshold will be listed as "SCORE+α".

I will also try to include the stage reached for multi-looping games such as Gradius III.

Note for Dogyuun: The game can be counterstopped by exploiting an infinite as demonstrated here, however the video Perikles linked is the highest I've seen that doesn't do that.

Same! Same! Same! - 8-loop clear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJmJUyLpOzY
Fire Shark - 10-loop clear and counterstop (100,000,000): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYtYGf0-EqE
Thunder Cross II - 10 million points (incomplete replay): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2hiQj8vEZQ

Gradius II - 10 million points
Type I (Shield): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8psUZddPW-w
Type II (Shield): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXRZPtSiSlk
Type III (Shield): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvYNblIVFtk
Type IV (Force Field): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_eGBSKeRUQ

Gradius III - Type A (5-2): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWuoIztaf4M

Also, the Detana!! TwinBee video is uploaded (on Nicovideo) by the same uploader as the Carmine replay for Giga Wing, not sure if you want to include that in the name field.

I've heard about that, but assumed that Replay Burners (where the Strahl run can be found) does not publish runs that were assisted by tools - or are their videos (partially) TAS, too?

Anyway, let's add some more Konami, will amend the rest later! Not entirely sure whether the A-JAX video is legitimate or not, but it looks good to me. Shepardus beat me to it regarding Gradius II, but I have it formatted anyway. Edit: I'd advise using the Thunder Cross II video I've posted, it's almost a counterstop and complete, whereas the one Shepardus posted is really short, thus not nearly as useful. Edit edit: you should mention that the type 5 Gradius IV replay was not done with default settings, the player starts with seven lives total. It's one of the very few high loop Gradius IV runs out there, so it should definitely remain regardless, but that caveat seems necessary.

Thanks @Perikles, Shepardus, The Armchair General! All updated!

-Made one entry each for Salamander / Life Force and Same! Same! Same! / Fire Shark. Hope this seems justified.
-Found a higher Gunnail replay (thanks @Jaimers!).
-Supposed that T.N and BOSTON are actually the same person and changed the names for Parodius Da! accordingly.
-Added a couple of other games such as Turbo Force, Super Real Darwin, Sonic Wings Limited, Plus Alpha, P-47:The Freedom Fighter.

It seems that most of their stuff is legit, while people like AZK-BAC are certainly not. Always watch twice.

RayForce - 9,194,900 - H.F - https://youtu.be/7UfqUqQDoAE

Here's a "cleaner" upload of the Valpiro run for Gunbird 2 (smoother framerate etc.): https://youtu.be/5p2zgwhyVL0
I think I got it from a link Erppo posted on Twitter, though it's been a while so I don't remember for sure.

Dragon Blaze: the Rob run here has a higher score (1,674,600) than the one currently posted: https://youtu.be/jJ6cJ-PkjAA?t=47m10s
Neither is particularly high-scoring though.

Here's a higher-scoring run of Same! Same! Same! (64,518,170): http://www.twitch.tv/owarabi/v/169093678
I didn't bother counting the number of loops, the scoreboard at the end says 99-08 but I think that caps at 99?

The mixed-team replay for Batrider is uploaded in higher quality and as a single part here: https://youtu.be/yP8BXVPxlqU

I cannot thank you enough not only for your links, but also that you upload so many videos to your account. It will be very helpful.

There will be a higher Rayforce replay probably soon, although with autofire. Stay tuned.

Dragon Blaze / Rob is an unfortunate case. It's really difficult to get hold of high scoring replays that are done with the lesser played characters in Psikyo games. Just take a look at that empty Strikers 99 table. It's not that I haven't searched for them...

Filling out a couple more gaps. I'm sure there have to be better replays for some of these (like all the Irem submissions), but this is what I can find so far. There is, for example, an outstanding loop 1 Salamander 2 superplay, but the second loop is nowhere to be found.

Is anyone aware of good TwinBee Yahhoo! replays? Or multi-loop videos of Daisenpuu, Hellfire and Tatsujin?

I have seen counterstop replays for all the missing Toaplan titles. They are out there somewhere. I will do a search later.
