Perhaps this link from Racketboy is a great place to start. Of course there are more games released exclusively to PS1(X) due to the vast number of games released.radirgyman wrote:Hi guys just wanting to get a list of PS1 SHMUPS that are exclusive to the console please.

Thanks yeah I've seen that.
I actually think a PS1 Exclusive shmup list doesn't exist.
Perhaps we should create a sticky and compile one ourselves?

70's Robot Anime Geppy-X
Dezaemon Plus
Einhänder
Gaia Seed
Gatchaman: The Shooting
Gradius Gaiden
Harmful Park
Philosoma
R-Type Delta
Sanvein
Shooter: Space Shot
Time Bokan Series: Bokan Desu yo
X2
Xevious 3D/G+
Zanac x Zanac
G-Darius, Night Raid, and a couple Namco compilations also count if we're including arcade ports. There are a few more listed in the Racketboy article on PS1 shooters, but they didn't look terribly interesting.

Gradius Gaiden is also on PSP, but close enough I guess.

G-Darius showed up on the PS2 Taito Memories Gekan collection in JPN (and the EU/NA releases of Taito Memories 2 for PS2/Xbox/PC). It also had an official Japanese PC release. (although, PS1 version is generally regarded as the best of the bunch)WelshMegalodon wrote:G-Darius, Night Raid, and a couple Namco compilations also count if we're including arcade ports. For people seeking such a list who aren't necessarily set on collecting physical releases, it's also worth remembering that many of these PS1 exclusives did get PSN "Classics" releases, playable on PS3/PSP/Vita. Several of these games even got NA PSN releases even though the original games were Japan only: Dezaemon Plus, Gaia Seed, and Zanac x Zanac come to mind. Several others got Japanese PSN releases, which are easily playable on other region systems once you buy them (e.g., using a Japanese PSN points cards) - often making for a much more affordable way to get them in a legit fashion than buying second hand CD releases.
