They did, sadly, it never saw release on any Round 1 cabs across the US as all they have installed is basically the same fighting games I've already played ages ago on other platforms. Not that it would have been a problem these days if its just licensing or otherwise to put other Nesica games, including Strania, on that platform in the US, but oh well... (Guess the only way, unless otherwise, is to travel to JP and find a N-X-L cabinet that has Strania installed. Or just play the other already existing versions on other platforms.)
Either way, having since tried it out now that the Exa-Arcadia platform is loketesting near a place I can be more close to, yeah, there are some differences in the EXA version here and there.
-Slight layouts to enemy formations (Example: More popcorn enemies in the beginning of Stage 1-Strania before you pick up the Vulcan/Missile) and weapon pickups (Example: Beginning of Stage 1-Vower let's you get a Vulcan/Missle pickup before you get the Sword and Stage 3-Strania in the middle section used to have two enemies using the reflect weapon, now its a Side/Reflect weapon user.), there are some other layouts, but most of it is minor.
-Original/Arrange Soundtrack (Press start during the Route/Difficulty selection to change OST before starting. Didn't get to hear the AST cause, you know, arcades are loud.)
-4 Difficulties (Normal/Hard/Expert and the newly added "Hell" difficulty, where popcorn enemies fire back revenge bullets one at a time, and the mech specific ones fire 3 revenge bullets at a time, and are fast. And yeah, its that hard.)
-You can play Stage 7 (Final) on Normal difficulty now in the Exa version on both routes, in other versions, the game ends on Stage 6 on Normal. However, the TLB's in both routes have less HP than their Hard mode counterparts, their attack patterns were more or less the same.
And...that's all I found out from playing the EX version so far.
