As you might of already read in my other topic I have currently been having an issue with jailbars on my modded N64 however I orginally presumed it was due to faulty modding but I have had some progress since then and below is what I have found. If you could help me further that would be great.

Ok after a kind mate of mine let me borrow a tv of his which has HDMI and Scart inputs I have discovered that the issue stems from my framemeister, because if I plug the scart directly to tv it's fine but if I plug the scart into the framemeister and hdmi to tv I get the jail bars. So my question has changed to this does anyone know why the framemeister is introducing jailbars to the RGB modded N64 while it can do gamecube, playstation, genesis RGB perfectly fine?

Re: Framemeister Introducing Jail Bars to RGB modded N64
Thank you for this info! Im having the same issue with my funtastic NTSC N64 and I thought the mod or the console were the culprits.
Did you manage to fix yours? Maybe wiring the SYNC to CSYNC instead of LUMA would help? Of course you'll need a csync cable too.
I will appreciate any new info you might have about this. Specially if it is something that can be addressed within the Framemeister´s menu values.
Im using Firebrand X N64RGB5X profile for the framemeister btw.

That is nice you checked direct vs indirect (through micomsoft)
How are the cables themselves?
-Shielded scart cables?
-Power adapter also, oem?

It's my understanding that most mods done to funtastic ver.2 n64's generally are modded with doner boards from ver 1 n64's (matte black models).holaplaneta wrote:Thank you for this info! Im having the same issue with my funtastic NTSC N64 and I thought the mod or the console were the culprits.

Cables are shielded from retro_console_accessories.
Everything is OEM.
UPDATE:
I just found out a forum post that corrects these jailbars on the Framemeister!!!
