The Neo Geo Shooting Special

Post by Kiken »

Yep, it's finally complete:
The Neo Geo Shooting Special (490 Megs)

The show is 80 minutes long with about 4 minutes spent on each game. I had some trouble with the audio levels present in the original captured video and the audio commentary (PI2 came out the worst). These are things for me to keep in mind should I decide to undertake another project like this (I keep thinking about doing one for the DC... but they need to stop releasing games first).

I plan to post this on other forums once it has been mirrored on Archive.org.

At any rate, please enjoy my droning for 70+ minutes. ;)

Thanks Kiken, it's awesome that you took all the time to make this! I've been looking forward to this for a while! Amazing that you bought all these games too O__________O

Second!

I'm d/l this now. I'm expecting something impressive and at the same time, educative. BTW, I just discovered that kiken means "danger" in Japanese. I'm taking classes. hohohohoho.

(Previously, I thought kiken had something to do with cats. Now, I guess it's just a silly pun. Good one.)

I skipped through it since I gotta go to bed, but what I saw was top quality. It's eons better than the Saturn Shooting Special: better commentaries, better playing, and more footage. One question, were you talking while playing or was it recorded afterwards?

The commentary was recorded later. I was watching the build file in Premier on my comp and recording my voice onto Minzoku's PC. Initially I had wanted to write a script... but I decided to keep things a little spontaneous (that and I was lazy!). ;)

Just finished watching the video, cool stuff :). I pretty much agree with all your ratings, I just hope that Pulstar and Blazing Star gets a port for a current system. Pulstar is a great game, but it sometimes feels a bit too much like R-Type. Blazing Star has more of a original feel to the gameplay, and some pretty brilliant ideas for the stages :).

Or maybe asx :P,

VCD compilant mpegs would be nice, so that they could be viewable on DVD Player :). Atleast for me download size is not a issue, go ahead and post a DVD review next time :)

Where do you host this monster?

I am really interested because I'd like to make videos of Japan for my website but I am not sure if I can afford the bandwidth...

Kiken, the video is REALLY awesome, although I do admit some parts of your narration was quite.. "inaudible", but at least I was still able to make out most of what you said.

The download isn't working anymore. It keeps stopping.

Maybe someone could set up a torrent?

Thanks for the video Kiken, sorry we killed your bandwidth.

I'm uploading the file to yousendit.com right now, but it'll be a while since it's so big. It's not as good as a mirror, but I don't have webspace.

This is why I didn't want to post it to any other forums until it had been mirrored. Think about it, 2 downloads is a gig.

If any of you guys who were able to D/L it can offer a mirror on your own severs for the time being, please do and post the links here.

Thank you.
